Anybody got any experience that could compare the length of time of the effects for oils vs. alcohol? Esp. the shorter lived pheromones like androstenol or TAA?
I’m just wondering how long the androstenols in a product like Scent of Eros would last. I seem to get about 3-4 hours of strong effects from 1 spray of Instant Openness. I’m not sure about Scent of Ero’s effect, because oils are so smooth it’s hard to tell. Instant Shine lasts about 2 1/2 hours at most for me, 1 spray.
I know in an oil based perfume (ME attars are a good example), a rose note can last for 8 hours or so before it starts to fade away and be replaced mostly by woods and ambery scents. And alot of base-notes can last for 48 hours on the skin if you don’t wash it off (and they don’t wash off too easily, either) … but of coures TAA and alpha-androstenol are probably less clingy.
Oils diffuse at a slower rate, so their concentrations are typically higher dosed for the course of the application. I would look at how many mcgs of androstenols are in SOE. Then I would look at how much get per spray in IO. Then factor in the slow diffusion rate of the oil.
You can always use Instant Openness along with your Scent of Eros application if you aren’t pleased with the difusion of the oil.
I’m happy enough with the diffusion speed, but the effect is so smooth sometimes I don’t notice at all if/when I should apply any Instant Openness. Scent of Eros isn’t really dosed at all- 1-2 drops is about the same amount of pheromones as is in 2-3 sprays of Instant Openness and 1 spray of Instant Gentleman. The problem is Scent of Eros uses a roller ball, so you can only approximate the amount.
I should probably get some TAA oil and play around with that, since I’m very familiar with the effects of Instant Shine.
BTW I just got hold of some stuff that is silicone based and will dissolve a light oil and allow you to spray it. It works great, I may have to try that with pheromones eventually. It’s called cyclomethicone NF, and is used mostly in toiletries/body sprays, and some home perfumers/aromatherapists use it.
I think out of all my products, A314 lasts the longest (3 drops last anywhere from 6-8 hours), followed by ammo, then SOE a close third, and if i layer my pheromones, e.g. Ishine on top of A314, ammo on top of SOE, or SOE on top of A314, it will last about 1.5 times longer.
I find that SOE doesn’t last very long for an oil based product, and the dosage is hard to measure, so i usually use quite a lot, the good thing is i really like the scent and i won’t OD on it.
I’ll have to try and get more of a feel for Scent of Eros. To be honest I’ve been going light on pheromones the past couple of weeks.
I tried mixing a little cyclomethicone NF with the Scent of Eros, not alot, just a little (I’ve got a 3mL roll on with a little bit of SoE in there, don’t want to screw up the whole bottle)… and it does work, though it gives the pheromones and the musk scent in SoE alot more “lift”, at least initially- it diffuses faster. I honestly don’t care for the effect in SoE, I think it would work better with single-pheromone products. I’d say cyclomethicone NF is somewhere between an oil and an alcohol in terms of performance, with the more cyclomethicone you use, the faster it diffuses. Cyclomethicone could be useful for TAA oil or maybe even Raw Power. The only wierd thing about it, if you mix it underneath sunscreen, it tends to make for very shiny looking skin.
