Do you think it's arrogant

Lately I’ve noticed a couple of threads appear where nobody had even looked at them yet, but they were already nominated for the Thread of the Week Award.

I’m just curious if anyone else finds it a little arrogant and cocky to make a post and nominate yourself?

I agree Mark. Anyone can toot their own horn, and the volume does not necessarily make the tune pleasing to the ear.

Nominations should be reserved for things that make a difference to others, that upbuild, educate or further the efforts here.

Perhaps that’s not the case Mark. I nominated a post yesterday(?) morning quite soon after it was posted because I thought it had a certain flair that is sometimes missing. Anyway the system didn’t update the number of views until sometime later. It would have looked like the post was nominated with no views during that time but it wasn’t the OP who nominated it.

I chose the third one.

I have never nominated myself, because the nomination thing means nothing to me really. It’s just like reputation points…nothing else.

However, if someone nominated themselves, I would find it kinda funny actually! Boy they must have a super high confidence…

Well, there was one the other day that was nominated 1 minute afterr the thread was started, and 15 minutes later I was the only one that had viewed it.

And, there was absolutely nothing worth warranting a nomination, so while I could be wrong, I really don’t think so, at least not on that one.

Good point there too renny.

As far as the voting goes I agree with moonwhisper, because if you think it’s a great post then surely someone will think the same and hopefully learn something from it and maybe even possibly nominate it as well. So no need to nominate yourself really if you think it’s a great post. as I’m sure chances are someone will agree and do it for you.

If you can do such a thing, there should be a software fix to prevent it.

Interesting topic.

Call it want ya want, I don’t think you should nominate yourself.

I nominate this post for “Post of the Century”.
