it was just a joke of course. Can’t tell how that speech sounded to a native speaker, but most germans of reasonable english-skills would be horrified about one of our ministers displaying such weak english - pronounciation and wording, not to mention his rather moronic grinning. It’s the ministry of int. cooperation and development no less, where language skills are essential - apparently not for the highest position.
