Fenugreek and pheromone production
“The question”:
Can I use fenugreek for increasing my pheromone production?
« Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum) belongs to the family Fabaceae. Fenugreek is used both as an herb (the leaves) and as a spice (the seed). »
« Fenugreek seed is widely used as a galactagogue (milk producing agent) by nursing mothers to increase inadequate breast milk supply. It has also been used to increase breast size. It can be found in capsule form in many health food stores. »
For men, I hear that fenugreek works like magic for boosting a man’s testicle size, testosterone and but it has the negative effect of making the males nipples more sensitive and maybe bigger. I decided to buy some of it because it’s dirt cheap and try it out. Because everyone is doing it, I figured that I could follow the croud on this one. Besides it cost only 1.85$CAD. Many bodybuilders use it and report it being more effective than tribulus.
So I theorized. Breasts are nothing more than modified sweat glands. And I hear that eating it gives you a sexy syrupy male smell. Since it accelerates the breast’s biological functions, won’t it accelerate sweat glands since breasts are nothing more than a modified sweat gland? So, could I use fenugreek for increasing my pheromone production?
I’m having doughts though since I read this after buying it:
«Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the potential antifertility activity of feeding diets containing 30% fenugreek seeds to male and female white New Zealand rabbits. Results: The data presented in this study clearly demonstrate an antifertility effect of fenugreek seeds in the female rabbits and more of a toxicity effect in the male rabbits. In males, testis weight was reduced, with evident damage to the seminiferous tubules and interstitial tissues as shown by the histopathology of testis tissue sections. In addition, the plasma concentration of the androgen hormone and sperm concentrations were halved in the treated animals. In the case of the females, there was evidence of a significant reduction of developing fetuses as observed by reductions of both fetal and placental weights at 20 days of gestation and of the litter size. This was further supported histopathologically by the observed proliferative changes of the endometrial glands. The circulating plasma progesterone concentrations at 10 and 20 days of gestation significantly increased with no significant effect on the prebreeding estrogen concentrations in the treated animals. »
But, lets say that my total fenugreek consumption will be of 0.0005% of my total food consumption. Not 30% like in the study.
Maybe this supplement isn’t a good idea since it contains an estrogens compound. Maybe not. I really don’t get it since big body builders take it.
Anyone know if it can be taken by men for increased fertility and pheromone production?
