OK once again a very good friend of mine wrote another fascinating and thought provoking article on the incredible benefits of Fish-Oil.
Many of you, including myself, thought I knew what I needed to know about Fish-Oil but I have to say this article changed many of my “misconceptions.” Well also my ulterior motive is to help my friend get to the first page of digg, reddit, propeller. So if you would please go ahead and push, push, push it so she can further her research and gain readership to continue her pursuit.
In my view any doctor willing to push natural remedies rather than pharmaceuticals is got enough ethics in today’s superficial “pill for this and that” world, is someone who can make a difference. All it takes is one person, just look what MLK, Ghandi, Bhudda, Jesus did.
One person making a difference. Then again look at what Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot did: One person made a difference while millions choose to do nothing and millions more paid the ultimate price for their unwillingness or inability to make a difference themselves. OK I’m ranting.
I have just read about this exact topic citing the exact same sources in a book called “The Gabriel Method” which you might see plastered everywhere on the net.
I’ve started a new health initiative, and this includes omega-3 capsules every morning, or with some meals. I’m kind of sore now from lifting weights, but, do feel a bit better about myself
Haha yes!
I’ve been taking omega 3,6,9 supplements for almost half a year now, but I didn’t know it was good for a lot of other things then I already knew.
Also, I do think I feel better since I’ve been taking them.
Fish oil is like the A314 of oils you use internally (A314 is the fish oil of external oils, just don’t mix them up.)
One problem people have with fish oil is that if you take the pills, you can later taste the fish oil later (fish burps). Gross.
So I recommend getting a fish oil with lemon in it. Carlson makes a great liquid fish oil that tastes like lemons and goes down smooth and easy. It doesn’t taste like fish at all. They also have lemon flavored oil in capsule form as well. You can get it cheap at the Vitamin Shoppe. If you go to the store in person, print out the webpage, their online price is cheaper than the in-store price. They won’t match without a printout, so I usually order mine through Vitamin Shoppe’s store at Amazon.
Carlson also makes great vitamin D capsules (I think Steve also mentioned an article about D a few weeks ago.)
Just make sure you take a fish oil and not a cod liver oil (unless you doctor recommends it) as cod liver oil has lot’s of vitamin A in it, which can be harmful at high dosages.
Oh, and speaking of the benefits of fish oil: sex.
Ah, but grasshopper, that would then be one fish better than another fish. The point still being undisputed one fish simply cannot be better than itself. And Fish is Fish! While you might discern Tuna from Shrimp, but all still seafood.
I eat Sea Monkeys… I’m kidding! Fish oil is great for you, just get it enteric coated to avoid fish burps. Getting nutrients from tuna and sea food aside from this is still a good thing to do besides fish oil supplementation.
Ah, consider salmon. There is wild caught Pacific salmon that gives you all sorts of good for you omega-3 fatty acids. Then there is farmed Atlantic salmon (the wild Atlantic salmon is practically extinct). The feed that they give the farmed Atlantic salmon results in the replacement of the healthy omega-3 fatty acids with unhealthy saturated fats. You might as well be eating a beef steak when you eat an Atlantic salmon steak.
No doubt about that Jim, but my point was more about Atlantic Farm Raised or Wild Salmon, it’s still Salmon and thus a Fish. One is still better on every level, but genetic makeup of a fish, regardless.
Hostess, Tastykake: One a empty calorie filled sugary treat that tastes pretty darn good, the other a delectable treat that any New-Yorker would kill for. Both still treats, but vastly different
