I’m takin a lil vaca on Tuesday and I want to bring my pheros with me.
I’m wondering if anyone on here has brought pheros through the airport before?
I’m askin bc its been like a year since I flew, and last I checked we still couldn’t carry on any liquids and I have a knack for getting my checked luggage searched and the last thing I need is some redneck fukn security guard to find a small liquid bottle labeled AMMO and have his peasized brain pop and sizzle in terror that I’m carrying some kind of liquid explosive. Especially if I have the other bottles with me of TUTH, A314, and IO. My tester of one of the putatives the way its packaged look like unmarked chemicals lol and combined with these I’m wondering if it could cause a problem.
If its within the USA, I won’t worry at all. You can either check them in your luggage as cologne or carry a bottle or 2 through security as cologne. The only time you might have trouble is moving them through international customs of some countries (non EU, Canada, Australia, etc.). They might not understand what they are and could potentially detain you.
LOL. Ammo. Carry some wires in there too, and an egg timer.
In all seriousness, you can peel off the labels and put on your own stickers to tell them apart. Lots of us do that. You could also put a small amount in an empty cologne bottle or atomizer.
It’s been alright to carry on liquids and gels for well over a year now. You merely have to pack them in a plastic bag and remove from your carry-on and place in the tray. Here’s what the TSA says (start there next time if you want up to date info):
I’ve flown into Vegas, Seattle and San fran dozens of times since the ban was lifted. Never had a single problem. Nevertheless, my GF didn’t obey these rather cryptic rules and got taken aside and chewed out, searched and basically told leaving her perfume and lipstick loose in her bag makes her look like she’s trying to hide something. She was also chewed out for not layering her bag (it was a heap of crap), making her look even more like she was hiding something. Of course she’s always packed my tossing her stuff in and smashing the lid closed.
Personally I’d never travel with my main stash. Not only are those glass bottles easy to break, but they tend to leak. I transfer what I need for the trip into Sephora pocket atomizers. No threatening labels like “Ammo” to worry about and these atomizers are tiny, strong and virtually leak proof.
Hey I appreciate you guys replying to my questions. This has probably been discussed on the forum already so I apologize for not searching, but what store can I purchase these sephora atomizers or smaller spray bottles?
Your local mall Sephora carries Sephora atomizers. Also sold at Sephora.com. If you have any old Togo or Liquid Trust bottles they work well too, albeit not as fine a mist as the Sephora.
The reason I asked is I’ve never even heard of the word Sephora before. I didn’t know it was a store at the mall … I’ll check tomorrow bc I definitely agree with you regarding risking breaking the bottles, thats why I wanted to atleast carry them on.
Gosh are you lucky. The closest one for me is about 40 miles away in the Big City. And we have at least four “Major Malls” in the area. have yet to set foot in a Sephora. One of these days.
And as for the original question: I have never had a problem carrying small bottles of “stuff” (the To Gos would be perfect) thru airport security. As long as you don’t have more than a few, and are in the quart-sized plastic zip-lock bags as they request. I usually pack my products in my checked luggage in a “toiletries” kit bag (sometimes called a “Dopp Kit” after one of the original makers). And the airports have include Tampa Fl, where security is pretty tight. They have “carded” us at both ends of an enclosed no other access corridor, and last time I went through they were inspecting your ID’s with magnifying glasses (eye loupes).
Carrying something on your person may be another matter though. Even a keychain atomizer would probably get snagged. I generally check everything except my wallet, cell phone, and house/car key. The MP3 or DVD player usually makes it through in my carry-on.
Hey I hate to revise a dead topic (is it?) but I’m travelling to Mexico on Tuesday and I want to take my Phero’s. I have TUTH and Instant Shine, but they are in ToGo travel bottles. I would feel confortable putting them in plastic bags and checking them but I peeled the labels off (the TUTH leaked during shipping and I had to take the labels off, they were soaked) and wrote with a sharpie “TUTH” and “IS” respectively. Think this would be a problem?
Maybe if I covered myself in Instant Shine before I went through customs it would help
