Great places to live in the USA?

Hey guys,

So pretty soon, I’ll have to make a decision about where to live in this beautiful country. Since, I’m new here, I have no clue as to the ups and downs of each place. So, I was hoping some of you would give me some pointers.

Firstly, how are the following cities:

Austin, Texas - I’m pretty sure this would be the winner among these 3
Portland, OR
Pittsburgh, PA

Cheers

Try Hawaii

It really depends what you’re into. Do you love the nightlife? Are you more of a city guy? Or do you prefer close-knit community life? Country living, peace and quiet? Do you like cold weather, or do you prefer warm?

If you wanna party

Austin, TX

Austin is fun to party

Austin, Texas: hands down. Conduct a search to find The Austin Chamber of Commerce. Also, one of Money Magazine’s top three “Best Big Cities” in the year 2000, and this city continues to progress foward. It really has alot to offer.

Maybe I should move there too. Hey, we should all move there! Is it cold in Austin? I’m not particularly fond of too much ice and snow.

I don’t live in States but surprisingly, all the way over the pond, I can tell you that Austin has cropped up a few times as the place to be.

Yep, I love the nightlife and would love a town with lots of things to do. I’d already looked up Austin and found many, many cool things there. It seems pretty unanimous

I’m putting in my vote for Portland… three reasons:

  1. We have every type of “natural location.” Coast, Mountain, Desert, Forest, etc.
  2. The things to consume. Voodoo Donuts. Microbreweries. Amazing Salmon.
  3. Big Names. Nike and Columbia Sportswear have their headquarters here. Which means everyone has cheap Nike, Columbia, and what not here.

But you gotta get used to the rain… it rains pretty much half the year guaranteed. I’m just throwing Portland in here, though… being sort of a devil’s advocate, as I’d prolly choose TX too. Portland will always be home though.

I say we all move to Austin and have a phero party
