Hello, I’m Mic, I’m a 45 year old male from Columbus Ohio. I found this site completely off the cuff, as I was google-ing information about vomeronasal organs and whether they existed in humans after the 30 week gestational period, as it was considered that they atrophied after that time, though there have been some research that had found one or both in 90 percent of the subjects studied, (all adults), and still they hadn’t found a clear connection (at least in the documents I read) to the brain. Needless to say, I’m a science and medicine junkie, so I read a lot of research documents just for self edification.
So this site intrigues me, as it seems to be a social /community/ research site, and I definitely will be looking forward to reading about live experiences in the subject, as this afternoon at 12:20, I was not even sure that vno’s could even detect chemical communication. So that’s my story, hopefully I can find here lots of material on the subject…so I hope everyone took careful notes, and had a control

u are def right about this being a very social and research oriented site. and u will be able to read up on a lot of subject and get comfortable with using pheros pretty soon 
anyways, ru thinking of purchasing any for yourselg? if so, what kind of effects are you looking for?
hey Mic, welcome to the forums.
there is a subforum for research studies etc that you might find interesting. lots of up to date info on VNO and stuff.
you’ll find lots of reports here from some of us but probably very few are using strict research guidelines/control groups etc.
since you are into that kind of thing, hopefully you can help us brush up on writing “proper” reports!
tips and advice are always welcome here.

Yes we need to know what you will be doing with the phero’s. This site provides lots of information to help you better your experiences with the products. It is a great site where many offer some great advice and personal experience. Are you planning to buy pheromones to help you with your social situation? Or do you just want to experiment?

Well I hadn’t actually thought to try pheromones myself, as I was just interested on vno’s and whether the organ actually detected pheromones. There is a lot of paper that documents very interesting results, and I have read some apocryphal material of people having disasterous side effects from nasal surgery that damaged the vno area. So at the moment I suppose I’m just looking at first hand user experience, and perhaps what the sponsor agency puts out about it’s research. But I must say that the rapid response is gratifying, you all seem to be a quick and well informed bunch…kudos for that)

Actually I was more into the whole theory of the thing, as I’ve been looking into vno’s…first hand user info will be interesting) But I must say you folks are giving me much to think about.

The VNO theory is still highly debated today. Some studies indicate it has been found and it is functioning while others believe there are other direct pathways to the brain. Studies in the effects of copulins have proven that the molecules are getting to the neurotransmitters by some pathway. This is proven by the increase in testosterone by 130% with in a short period of time when men are exposed to them on a women. When exposed to the same women without copulins on there was no significant rise in testosterone. This indicates that yes there is a olfactory pathway to the neurotransmitters.
There is a studies and abstract area of the forum where you can look at studies provided by members here from all over the net.
The Pheromone theory section is a good place for you to discuss your opinions and findings on mones and the VNO. As suggested keep a eye out for posts by MHarris, Jasmin and JVKohl all three extremely knowledgeable in this subject.
Just to give you a little understanding as to what go’s on here…
Androtics does not really “put out” much on there research results on each molecule. Generally this company is different then your run of the mill Mone company. The advanced section is where they sell molecules in testing. We test them and report results. With those results they further there own research and create new mixes to sell. The selling of these mixes is what funds the research. All the chemicals except the main stream mones are tested under a code name such as TAH TAL P83 ect ect … So only androtics knows the true chemical being tested.
Its ok for you to hang out and discuss mones and vno’s but if you do become interested in using mones and want a GC please give us more info on yourself, your personality, your objective and I will be happy to send you one.
