Hi from the Far East

Hi everyone!
First off, let me say how great it is to meet a community that’s so friendly and welcoming. I thought it would be kind of awkward posting on a site like this, but after reading some of the posts, I knew I’d come to the right place.
So, let me tell y’all a bit about myself…
The basics: I’m a South African woman teaching English In Taiwan. I’m 34 years old, and going through a divorce.
OK, now for the details.
I’m a social introvert - I really enjoy going out, going dancing, all that stuff, but I find it difficult to make small talk, and relax around people. I also need a lot of alone time after a social weekend. I am on anti-depressants, and have been for about 12 years. Several years ago, one of the kinds caused me to gain a lot of weight, that I just couldn’t shake. I felt terrible, and everything started going downhill - my health, my work and my marriage. That’s when I first looked at the whole pheromone idea, to try to boost myself a bit, and rekindle the spark between my hubby and me.
Recently, I changed to new medication, which is wonderful. It’s like I can suddenly see colors again, and I want to go out, exercise, explore and meet new people. And of course, this is when my husband decides he wants out of our 11 year relationship.
We’ve been separated for nearly 6 months now. We’re still good friends, and the break-up was as amicable as these things can be. Not too many hard feelings, but after being a couple for 11 years, it’s really tough being on my own.
Here’s the difficult part: I live in a country where the western guys have their pick of almost any Asian girl they want. The Asian girls are naturally slim, and they like dating western guys. As a western woman, it’s really hard to find someone here. Another problem is that people come and go all the time- most only stay for a year or 2, then they leave. I can speak a fair amount of Chinese by now, but the Taiwanese guys don’t really seem interested in dating western women (yes, I have actually asked).
And so here I am. I guess it’s fair to say that my self-esteem has taken a knock. I’m pretty, but not a looker; I’m working on my weight; I’m going out and meeting new people; picking up old hobbies again. But I don’t have a lot of experience with men, or flirting. I feel awkward and shy, like I’m back in high school! Sometimes, I wish I could be one of those girls who gives off vibes that makes people want to be with them. And it’s fair to say that ‘vibes’ could well just be pheromones.
I decided that I only have now, it’s something I’ve always wanted to try, and I can now spend my money on me, and things that make me happy.
So, here’s to inquiring minds, exploration and new adventures!
Oh, and can anyone recommend where I should start!?

Hey Chanuki, I can really feel for your situation. Seemingly in a place thats difficult to connect. But its very brave to put on a happy face and be the best that you can be for that special moment when Mr. Right comes along.

Theres a few things I would recommend both for your outward signature and for self effects. First off IS is great for putting yourself and others in a positive mood. That cheerfulness and approachability is sexy in its self. To help with your social side try some IO to help you and other brake the ice. Then to build your sex appeal try out some Instant Sexiness A, or if thats still not in the store some TAL at 5-10mcg. It will give you a confident alpha sexy like Angelina Jolie.

Stop by the womens section and share your comments and feedback! Theres lots to be learned, and the more you know the more effective you can be!!

Cheers!

Hey there! Welcome to the mone forum, Pherotalk.

English, eh?! Is that teaching English in the public school system or private? Are you tutoring students? I’m glad to hear your not only dishing out English, but taking in Mandarin. Excellent!

Thanks for the forthrightness of your post. You have being going through much in your life Chanuki and much more! From the way you posted, you are fortifying your will to get a through these hurdles in your life. I’d suggest you continue to focus, that is, have as your primary goal, in boosting YOUR confidence in yourself. Getting to love yourself, who you are and who you CAN be… This will help others to see you in a similar light. Then, a relationship as a secondary goal. This will also, to use your metaphor, brightly color your mone usage.
Now, for what you are looking for in mones, I’d suggest IShine, for the bubbly, youthful, I’m comfortable to be with you vibe. IH for having others feel like they’ve known you for a long time, and just want to open up completely, like meeting up with an old friend.
And to spice it up a bit, having a sexy, kittenish, possibly a Natalie Portman type of sexy, IS/b.
I’ve been to the East and I know that Asian gals are particularly interested in Westerner’s. And as a major metro city, many stay temporarily. So, yes, what you describe, it is an uphill battle, though not impossible. I do hope you’ve been reading up on the mones on this site. There are many, many good and experienced in life and mones user’s on here that can provide you advice and support.

I do look forward to reading up on your journal!

Hello Chanuki and welcome to the forum.

It takes a lot of courage to go into that much detail about your life even with anonymous strangers. so I have to hand it to you. Plus you are working haard at getting things turned around for yourself. Even better yet.

I think 1Alpha gave you some pretty good product advice. The big thinkg to remember about these products is that they are not magic. Guys will not suddenly fall head over heals in love with you. They are more like subtle whispers - they help grease the skids for you.

You will definitely want to head overe to the women’s Forum and do some reading and ask any questions. There are plenty of ladies there who can help.

Welcome again!

Hey guys
Thanks so much for the positive vibes and warm welcome!
I’m not sure how it’s done on this forum, so I’m just going to reply to all the above messages in one post. Please let me know if I should be responding to you all individually…

I’m a pretty forthright person. I would say that I’m pretty open-minded, and I don’t take offense easily. I’m not too concerned about letting people know what’s going on in my personal life, although that might just be the safety of being virtually anonymous when you’re on the Net. I’m open about my issues, because I try to be as honest with myself as possible about issues / problems I’m having. I know that we all have negative aspects in our personalities, and those will never disappear completely. However, I try to never use them as an excuse, and I try to improve on them all the time.

So, it’s not so much a case of putting on a brave face. I view the divorce more as an opportunity to get to know myself better, pull my life together again, and get around to enjoying life for once. And it sounds like Instant Shine might really help with that. Cheerfulness and approachability sound awesome right now; thanks for the intro to IS and IH, TwistedOstrich.

Speaking of, I know absolutely zero about all the products out there, but I do know that they aren’t a magic cure, or a mythical love potion. I’m not expecting anything like that. I’m much more into the subtle aspect. But I love reading, and learning about new things, so it’s going to be a trip! And I’ll definitely head over to the women’s section and check it out - thanks bosshank.

I think you are quite right 1Alpha - it’s more about building my own confidence up. Don’t worry - I’m not looking for a serious relationship any time soon! Thanks for the vote of confidence, though, and it’s nice to know that someone else knows what it’s like here.

I teach English to kindergarten and elementary age kids. Most foreign teachers here teach at after-school centers which specialize in teaching English. There are literally hundreds of different kinds that cater to almost every situation. I taught senior high English in South Africa. I really enjoy working with the kids here.

Quick question, where do I write this journal you mentioned, and what do I put in it? Is it basically like a diary of what I’ve tried, how it worked for me and how I feel about it all?

Thanks again!

Journals: Go to the women’s section. There is a specific section for journals there. Come up with a good name and get one started.

Time difference has it’s issues with us posters that are State side. But, we all will get to these threads eventually!

Don’t worry about putting all of your responses in one post. I’m just glad that I and we can help. Cool that you teach Kindergarden level. Kids are like sponges at that age and depending on the methods used/allowed they’ll absorb even more AND retain it. As I recall, in Taiwan, it really depends on the director, the methods allowed to use to teach English. I have a fellow classmate who opened a school in, I think it was in Taipei or mayb closer to New Taipei to teach professionals english. I took a workshop using the Rassias method of teaching, based on this:
Teacher Workshops

I also took a TESOL class as well to teach languages. I highly recommend the Cotton class as he is VERY clear, direct and ESPECIALLY DYNAMIC with teaching a variety of powerful and useful methods:
Canadian Institute of English | TESOL Certification | Teach English | TESOL Courses | ESOL Teacher

Hey, IShine and IH sound great for you. I think IS/b will also be helpful to you. The asians that I’m around do love the social lines of mones like IShine and IH. IS/b, I think, will signal you as more of a sexy catch, though!

Please, do, start up a journal letting us and YOU know how the mones worked out for you. In what environment, quantity, etc. This helps you hone your abilities to use your mones as well as help in the research into mone products for women as well.

Here is the link to start… hint, hint.
