Since direct approach doesn’t work consider using some of the following (since he isn’t a real friend if you guys call him CB LOL).
If you are one on one with a woman or entertaining a small group (maybe 2 people) than just keep talking like asshat isn’t there. If you keep your frame the girls will listen to you and know whats going on. They will get frustrated and tell him to STFU. If they don’t step in and you feel you need an easy out you can turn to him, pretend like you didnt hear him, and say I’m Sorry? When he begins to speak say, I’m not appologizing, I’m just sorry.
Another thing you can do is say, Calm down CB we can all hear you just fine (in a very calm voice). Use variations of this until he betas himself entirely. Some variations include:
Dude CB, We all like you, you don’t have to show off.
Theres no need to change your voice tone, everyone likes you (everyone can hear you).
ETC ETC.
By saying these things it frames it that he is Beta and he reaffirms it by defending himself. It’s a beautiful system. If he doesn’t back off then use the final blow:
If you really didn’t care what we think then why are you defending yourself? LOL. That will blow him out of the water. Ignore him if he persists.
