ive been meaning to start this thread for some time now. basically, i want to know if my/your nose can tell the difference between your natural mones and synthetic mones? do we respond to our own mones like we do to the synthetic ones. do you/we react differently to the same mones, when applied to different people?
I’d be only as far to go by implying that you can smell synthetic ones and they affect you.
While naturals are well naturals and have no scent or smell and need no sweet spot testing lol.
I think that its unlikely that the nose could tell a pure synthetic versus natural pheromone. Certainly you pick up the natural mixture, and thats less potent than what is applied via synthetics, but discerning between the two besides their balances is unlikely.
Err, your nose isn’t the organ that discerns pheros. The scent is purely a carrier.
Mobo, I think I disagree. None and A1 both have a potent smell on their own- can you not detect which pheros are in what mixes even sold by AD?
Oh yes, they have a scent but that is not what gets the response.
A1 s quite a good example - OTOH, The gene associated with A1 is artophied in something like 30-40% of the population and they cannot smell it at all. Only its breakdown products.
Most popular known pheromones do not work by there scent. The scent has very little to do with its neurological effect other then to carry it to the olfactory system so it can fire the neurotransmitters.
The only one I know of that works this way is copulins which technically are not pheromones but vaginal secretions. There may be some putatives that work this way that they dont have enough information on just yet though.
While A1 and anone has a specific scent over half the population cant consciously smell it. Still there neurotransmitters fire and a reaction occurs indicating there is more going on here then scent.
There are no real studies on this other then those conducted from the sense of smell institute but I can give you my opinion derived from many studies and my own experiences with using mones.
Since synthetic pheromones are molecularly identical to your natural hormones and pheromones you cant tell the difference between the two by scent however someone close to you or you yourself may detect a change in scent. Suppose your not one to make a lot of anol naturally. Your not used to that smell coming from you, its foreign to you. Your SO knows you scent and may pick up on the change You register something is different but still unless your someone who is very familiar with pheromones you would never connect it with the use of synthetic pheromones. You would probably think it was just something they ate causing the change in scent.
Now suppose you have a high anone output. Your used to the smell and the synthetic mones will smell the same on you. Maybe not in the bottle because they have not been exposed to the bodies bacteria that makes them uniquely you just yet but once they touch your body they are the same.
No not necessarily. You know they are there if you applied them so this affects your reaction to synthetic mones worn by you. Your own natural mones do not effect your feelings or personality they are the byproducts of your feelings and personality. They speak of who you are. Again if your make an abundance of certain mones you probably wont notice or have self effects at all when you wear them. If its not something that speaks of your normal biology and thinking then you get self effects.
Yes we do. Pheromone signals coming from someone else speak of there biology and personality. If pheromones were the only way we communicated then we would process the signals all the same. However we use our other communication skills like body language and verbal language to create a clear picture of others and our feelings about that picture. Using just pheromones to determine information about someone would not leave a clear picture. It would be like a painting done in one color. It would have no dimension to it to move your emotions.

I’ll give you a hint just how smart Treeon325’s nose is: Its so smart he earned himself early admittance into reporting user status because of great posts like this. Its not always about what you discover yourself, but sometimes its what you get others to think about by asking the right questions. Great job my friend and welcome to a very exclusive group of users. Only rule we have is to keep reporting.
