Hello everyone,
I used to be very active on here, but started slacking due to several reasons that I am sure no one wants to hear. But I am back and ready to answer questions
Also I have a great idea that applies to guys and girls and I think at the end it can help everyone improve how they look and boost self- confidence.
So here it goes and please suggest ideas to improve it
I was wondering if everyone can post a picture or two of themselves and others can rate it and suggest idea to improve on they can improve the looks and body language, it’s just an idea really but let’s start with some feed back.
Welcome back. No offense but why would I care what anyone thought I looked like? If I went by that I’d be a very lonely guy. I don’t need anyone to rate me based on something as vain as looks. Rate me on my personality, my goodwill, my life, my value as a friend
.
I’m just confused how someone telling me I’m overweight or ugly is going to boost my confidence ![]()
Well I agree with the fact that personality, value and other things you mention are by far more important then looks but as sad as this might sounds looks do play a big part, you can have the greatest personality but if a girl isn’t going to give you a time of day doesn’t do you any good. Now you could say something like well I wouldn’t want someone like that or something like that but still it will get to you ![]()
The post I made was directed to people who recently got out relationship and can use a little help or boost I guess.![]()
Life is confusing as is don’t let this confuse you ![]()
What seemed to work for me is I began looking in the mirror and telling myself I looked good, every day, even if I didn’t believe it. Eventually I started to believe it.
To expand on your idea, I would rather have it so that people could rate others and tell them how to improve their looks, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so that wouldn’t work for everybody.
That’s a great idea, anything you guys like to suggest to improve it…I mean if it helps even ONE person it helps one person you know…![]()
This idea may work for some people as am not banging it. I believe the intention is good so ideas from others persons may tweak it a bit and get to something that works even better.
I personally and I do mean personally as it’s my opinion that lack of self confidence comes from or should I say one of the main contributors is thinking too much of what other ppl think about you and what you look like.
Taking suggestions is one thing but when we place how we should look, act , or behave in someone’s else hands even if it’s someone we trust it becomes confusing.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Some may find you are perfect, others may find you got a lot of work to do.
I suggest putting facts as unbias as you can possibly get or from many different valuable authors on how to work on progressing and valuing yourself more and have ppl try some of the techniques and then say how the technique helped them.
Just my two cents. ![]()
Good and noble intent but I see problems with it. For one, a lot of guys originally get into mones looking for an edge resulting from feelings of insecurity. Not knocking mones as I use them myself but being honest, guys that already think they’re attractive are not likely to even search for an edge. So criticism, even if well meaning and communicated diplomatically can come across harshly to some.
Likewise a lot of people here have forged friendships and would probably not be “brutally honest” for fear of damaging their online friendships forged here.
My opinion is that the only opinion that truly matters is your own. Along the lines of what Steve said…suppose a person has issue with their weight. If that’s the case then obviously they need to lose some weight and they don’t need me to tell them that. BUT…note that I said “if they have issue with”, so long as a persons weight is an issue to them it will be an issue to others. Conversely another person of the same height, weight and bodyfat percentage yet is totally comfortable in their own skin and accepting…even embracing their appearance will be attractive naturally by means of how they carry themselves.
I see people daily that are extremely attractive from a strictly genetic perspective, but are so insecure about minor “flaws” that they turn people off as if they were Quasimodo. I also see women that some might consider having a weight issue yet carry themselves with such confidence and present themselves as being very sexual beings that I’ve gone after them ignoring the super slim model types. Their energy was attractive and sexual.
If you think something needs fixing, then it does, if you accept yourself then that’s good, ultimately so long as other peoples opinions matter so much that you define yourself by them…your looks are the last thing you need to be working on.
I agree with Steve and RAD. I dont care what people think of the way I look nor do a trust the judgement of others when it comes to that even those I trust in other ways because what they find attractive I may not.
My friends tell me I would look good with dark hair. I dont like dark hair on me even if I look good in it.
My mother thinks I should get my hair cut short. I dont like short hair.
I think I could lose 10 pounds but my sister says I need to gain 5. Its my ass I know if it need tweaking. I dont feel comfortable at that weight.
If I listened to them I would not be confident or comfortable. I apperciate the gesture but they dont have to live in my body.
My husband thinks I look perfect just the way I am no matter what I look like. I am beautiful to him because he loves me, not loved because I am beautiful. He loves me not because of how I look but who I am.
I love who I am and I wont change anything unless I dont like it. I dont care who else likes it. That is the secret to attraction. Love yourself first.
Define yourself by who you are not what you look like.
Thats the only advice I can give you on looks. Love yourself and the rest of the world will follow.

As an aside, with regard to gaining or losing weight, the only thing I would suggest is strive for health first and formost…visual benefits come as a side effect.
there are a lot of women that suffer from anorexia and bulimia who’s self image is distorted and frankly no matter what you say to them they see a fat girl when they look in the mirror. This is body dismorphic disorder and can effect men as well. Some guys see a skinny weakling when they look in the mirror no matter how full of harmful steroids they pump themselves up with.
These are extreme examples I mention as exceptions to the earlier stated post about self perception taking precedent over other peoples opinions. A person suffering from BDD cannot be allowed to let their own self perception be the standard as doing so would result in poor health and possibly death…but again, extreme examples that I felt needed to be addressed.
On that note the VERY BEST ADVICE I can offer anyone is to read Psycho-Cybernetics. Its the one book, the one frame-set that I always refer back to. I’ve read everything under the sun, I’ve done it all and this one book was what changed my life.
It’s old and you can probably pick it up as open source now. OK maybe NOT that old ![]()
