I love alternative music!

I have finally come to this conclusion. Or accepted it. I love alternative music. I find myself seemingly always going against the norms. It isn’t on purpose I just go with what I feel. I’m black and this music fits me. It gives me the same feeling I get when I listen to reggae. Lots of emotion and music that hits me in my soul. Its funny I was singing a song at work and some guy was like your singing white music. I was like so? I feel what these guys are sayiing a whole lot more than some fool talking about his bling, or killing somebody, selling drugs or bitches or whatever. Thats not all rap is about but you get tired sometimes. Alternative isn’t all positive but I listen to what ever makes sense to me not somebody else

Probably the same reason I am furiously addicted to rugby, cricket , and football(soccer in usa). Americans have no clue or idea about these sports. One guy said cricket sucked. I told him he’d never even seen a test match and he was f–kin crazy. He said it sucked because he saw some guys playing in his neighbors backyard?!? Myopic americans.

By the way at the moment I am downloading Nirvana’s “Nevermind”. One of my favorite albums

you mean 90’s grunge?

I have no idea what the correct term is but I like it

I don’t see anything wrong with the music you like but then again I will be teaching and playing music for the rest of my life…lol. Hey, if you love the music, that’s all that matters…Later

Uh..yeah. If someone’s giving you a hard time about your music choices, give them the finger. I’m asian, does that mean all I listen to is j-pop/k-pop or trance? No.

Is it wrong for me to listen to hip-hop or mainstream rap because I’m not black? No. How about some samba or bossa nova because I’m not latin? No. Rock or country because I’m not white? Again, no.

There’s a song that really reminds me of this by Murs called Dark Skinned White Girls. It’s a rap song, and you might not find it relevant. It just happened to be the first song that came to mind for me. Murs talks about the difficulties that girls have in cultures that aren’t considered to be their own – a white girl in black culture, or a black girl in white culture, either due to family circumstances, personality/choice, or mixed heritage. I don’t know, you might like it, you might not. Whatevers, just tossing it out there.

I hope though, that your choice in music is the only conflict you’ve had to face for simply going against societal norms.

Nice choice in music man, Nirvana’s probably my favorite band… Yeah there was something about that whole 90’s alternative scene that just seemed to work. The vibe was just right, the music wasn’t too hard or too soft.

When are they going to clone Cobain so we can start that shit up again? :stuck_out_tongue:
