I’m an amateur perfumer and have recently been looking into the effects of pheromones when used as basenotes when creating a fragrance and have signed up here to see if any of you good folks could point me toward a reliable supplier of said mone hopefully located within in the EU or, if international, happy to ship this way.
The fragrance I’m currently working on is for men and thus far the women enjoy it and respond well but I’m looking for that certain something, an invisible push, an attractive allure, that thing you know yet can’t place and have a feeling that androstenol may just be what it is that I’m seeking. Alpha Androstenol makes a person seem friendlier and more approachable, less threatening… It creates a fun vibe and giddyness almost like a glass of champagne at higher doses… It does help to turn on the sex drive in men and women and makes a man more attractive to a woman… It does act as a buffer for status, so if dose is too high a man might be seen as less alpha or weaker…
If it is for mixing purposes I would consider the stealth series because there will be no scent and should actually help with diffusing your product as well.
I would like to hear more on what you would ultimately like to achieve adding pheromones to this cologne. If you could I would like to hear about your vision and what you would like to achieve with your cologne.

The reasons you outlined are exactly why I wish to sample Alpha Androstenol as I feel this could really give the fragrance an allure that is hard to place but whose effects are easily noticed. Do you know if its possible to obtain the raw pheromone as is ie undiluted/not held in solution with anything else?
Thank you. I hadn’t considered the Stealth series, where are they vended? Adding pheromones to the cologne will give it an edge as I’m already working with a lot of fixatives like ISO Gamma E/Timbersilk etc.. that produced favourable mood reactions and am looking to venture out and fill the base with something that is known to work on the inhalers nervous system as the sketch of the fragrance is complete and I have room in the formula so am just playing around with various ideas at the moment to see which creates the best result.
Thank you. What is the difference between Beta and Alpha to you? I’ve only done rudimentary research and create mainly based off intuition as the feeling brain is much wiser than the thinking brain and it is what lead me to Alpha but I’m always willing to listen, hence signing up.
Tech wise, stuff like Ambrox, ISO E, Lyral all create “effects” beyond smell and what I’m working on is a superduper base that grabs the persons attention which is then layered with a mesmerizing range of accords on top. A 1/2 knockout if you will.
Many scents and things such as Hedione and Iso E Super have been shown to have pheromone like properties on its own and several vendors out there now take advantage of the various pheromone like properties to modify a mix and make it more effective … It can also make a mix less effective if you didnt account for its pheromone like properties in some cases just like adding way too much social pheromones to a mix. Scents also in studies used in testing along with pheromones seem to hit most everyone, while pheromones in some cases depend on a persons genetics and even a womans monthly cycle as to how effective it may be.
One small example from way back was Scent Of Eros that used 4 parts Alpha Androstenol to 1 part Alpha Androsterone (4 mg/1mg in 10mg) and then added a musk scent which added additional pheromone like attraction instead of using Androstenone. A black musk would have even been stronger I imagine for those who are playing around…
From Sylvamber website: Sylvamber has the highest proportion of the gamma isomer of this type of product on the market, typically 22% (compared to around 8% in Iso E Super, just under 15% in Timbersilk, and around 18% in the IFF captive called Iso Gamma Super. This is as far as diffusion. However in testing, Timbersilk seems to be less effective then ISO E SUPER imo for diffusion/throw, but may be good still for its scent for making fragrances. I’ve found ISO E SUPER to be quite effective at enhancing diffusion distance and longevity of pheromones especially at high doses, but has to be balanced for its social features.
Something like TUTH which is sexual Androstenone with a mood amplifier might balance out the social properties you have currently. It has been used in a cologne in the past.
Androtics does have A-nol normally in various concentrations diluted in alcohol, and are certainly capable of custom orders/requests with their lab. I would send a PM to DEE A or dee@androticsdirect.com subject question about order to see if they will sell the raw molecule undiluted now or once they catch up with customer orders after their recent long distance move, and start taking the custom and putative orders again. You can PM me if they are unable to help you, I can point to 3 sources that should still be able to provide the raw chemical. Androtics molecules are of high quality and would be my first suggestion to see if they can meet your needs.

Whilst Sylvamber may have the most Gamma and thus is closest to the the captive version ISO Gamma E (which has the best diffusion, reaction and smell) its just not as “clean” as ISO E which adds it own flavour and when its proportioned right with some Timbersilk it gives off a wonderful cedaresque kind of accord which generally amps up your own natural scent and thus imparts a wonderful body to the fragrance.
I’m just experimenting with filling in the last few percent of the formula, hence the interest in pheros as they may be the difference that makes all the difference and introducing them to the mix will be a totally different area for me and thus most fun to play with as you never know how it will go until you’ve given them a spin and seen the reactions. If the pheros don’t give me what I’m looking for I’ll just amp up some of the fixatives and concentrate on the performance as I’m quite happy with the rest of it the way it is and am seeking more ‘effect’ than scent at the moment.
Every one of the putatives as well as experimones have different effects, sometimes many of them even with using just one molecule… Finding the right combinations and dosage is key just like finding the right scent notes to mix or ingredients to a soup recipe… Otherwise we would all be making our own mixes and not buying from companies… You might consider musks which you are likely more familiar with. Of course you can always ask some people like Justintime, jdub, mobocaster etc about suggested ones to try, or for them to help with the pheromone side while you work on the scent side, who knows… ISO E SUPER definately adds a aphrodisiac quality and some social… Seems to be quite popular in perfumery. Apparently molecule 1 has more of the gamma.
