FWIW I am a shy/socially avoidant/borderline Aspergre’s person (basicly I just suck at social stuff, I prefer people to always say what they mean, exactly what they mean) that has been working for the past four years or so on being less shy, more outgoing, and taking more control of my life back and letting go of bitterness. It seems like its only been since discovering this website and pheromones that this change has become more like a leap.
I now make eye contact easier with anybody, even without pheromones. I’m even getting to the point I’m feeling like I can engage in some small-talk with people, esp. with men (women are still a problem). I feel like I’m changing quickly, much quicker than I have in the past. Maybe the feeling is greater than the reality, though, but the feeling is still real.
But… and this is a big but… I also feel like I am having trouble integrating who I am now, with who I was two months ago, or even two weeks ago. Like who I am is changing at a pace I haven’t experienced before. How do I integrate my personality of today with what I feel I was? I have all the memories but sometimes it feels a bit “dissosciated” from who I am. And sometimes I still feel like the tendencies of the past are trying to creep back up on me, like my personality is a slushy lava lamp that isn’t in an equilibrium yet.
I hear what you are saying man I have similar problems (about the ‘tendencies of the past creeping back up’) though definitely not Aspergers.
I think the key for me is not using pheromones sometimes (say on the weekends) and trying to establish what my baseline state is like. The pheromones can make you feel like everything is ‘solved’ when it isn’t - don’t get me wrong they are a great social lubricant but they will only ‘mask’ things sometimes where you need to get to the root cause of the problem. For example you can wear no pheromones and if you don’t smile and are anti-social, your family will let you know at a family gathering say and berate you - but if you wear Instant Shine, Alpha-Nol, P74 and so on the family will think everything is well and good even if you don’t smile - you may give off the vibe of a ‘happy person’ when you aren’t
.
I have invested in blood and saliva tests for vitamins/minerals/heavy metals/hormones, sleep studies, numerous supplement testing, etc. I have definitely gotten some gains going to the root cause of some of my issues which really seem to hit them like a screwdriver instead of using drugs (or even pheromones) say to mask them.
As a cool bonus, once you are taking care of the root causes of your issues through testing and treatment like I mentioned, you will find the pheromones will work more effectively of course…
Well, I’ve never got the impression that other peoples expectations of me were progressing too quickly, quite the contrary. I probably need to just keep focused on what I value and slow down a little, not try and make too much progress too fast… patience.
Going without pheromones once in a while sounds like a good idea, too. I’m not spending all day “altered” as is, but a day or two being “clean” wouldn’t hurt, I suppose.
I don’t know for certain I have Asperger’s, thats why I say “borderline”. I just was lousy at socialization as a young kid. I did alot of socially wierd things. I wasn’t horrible at talking per se, but I tended to talk about myself alot, and had slightly unusual interests (in my case, dinosaurs, science fiction, whatever). I also did some things that seemed to give the impression that I was a dick (and didn’t understand how they could hurt somebody’s feelings), and I had trouble having empathy for other kids. I also experienced alot of anger and frustration, bad temper, over feelings I had that seemed like they couldn’t be expressed to other people. Asperger’s tends to get better with age, so it’s hard to say if I really have Asperger’s now days or not. Maybe I’m just more of a “geek” or “dork” on the Asperger’s/Autism continuum- having the tendencies but being “subclinical”.
