Hey everyone, Royksopp here.
As for the basics; I’m a 26 year old white male living in Orange County, CA.
I’m a big guy, and I don’t mean a little chubby.. I’m pushing 369 (down from 435) though I have a lot of muscle mass, so while I’m still obviously a fat guy most people underestimate my weight by about 50-75lbs. I’ve been on a crusade to fix myself up. I’ve been eating better, losing weight and exercising more regularly – I still have a long way to go, and I’m cool with it… The juice is worth the squeeze. If anybody here is familiar with the Myers-Briggs personality test, I’m an INTP. That basically means I’m incredibly introverted and painfully quiet. I have trouble being honest (as in speaking up, not lying) and I’m really terrible at conveying my emotions – I’m also frighteningly blunt, which doesn’t bode well with most people.
My good qualities
I’m well spoken, confident and eager to take on new challenges and am able to work through those challenges with relative ease. My closer friends tell me I have a “Quiet confidence” about me, I’m intuitive and good at analyzing people and situations. I’ve also been dubbed the “wait, did you remember ____” guy, supposedly in a good way.
The Bad
A close friend admitted to treating me differently than others for reasons he can’t explain, he told me if and when I make a mistake it’s clear I pay double what others would. About a year ago I was in a business meeting brainstorming and throwing out ideas, my ideas were all shot down hard, yet praised when mentioned by others in the same meeting.
This was a realization – something had changed.
I have to try very hard to get any respect, I’m constantly being treated as a lesser person and talked down to often… This was not the case a few years ago, I’ve become self conscience, bitter and doubtful of myself and my abilities. I feel my unhappiness is visual at this point and that keeps people away, which makes me unhappy… I’ve always been quiet and introverted – but never needlessly put down, ignored, unwanted and excluded. I’m here because I’ve made myself a social outcast, maybe because I’m a big fat guy, possibly because I’m an introverted wallflower even amongst friends or simply because I’m honest when I shouldn’t be. I’m not sure, but the respect I commanded and had before is clearly gone.
What I want pheromones to do for me ?
Honestly? I just want what I had – I used to inspire people, I used to be approached for advice, I was respected, included and accepted. I still have a sharp tongue, I’m still clear headed, I come up with good ideas, have implemented processes that saved my company money, I’m still very confident… But nobody cares. I just want something that will give me the opportunity to let myself shine.
Thanks for taking the time to read my long winded message,
~Royksopp
