looking forward to testing it. it’s certainly one of the pricier products but i believe it’s worth the money if it lives up to the uber attention grabbing hype as advertised.
i was going over some of the threads on mx101 and pheroproof but couldn’t find anything on how it smelled. the site says citrus essential oil - so the scent is like light orange or something? i hope it’s not too heavy.
i tend to prefer very lightly scented or unscented products, such as the Edge. with unscented products u can reapply in public discreetly without worrying about the scent overwhelming the immediate area.
so if u were to excuse urself during work or social events to go refresh the pheromones somewhere u don’t come back smelling all cologned up. it’s just a dead giveaway.
plus, with unscented products u can choose ur own cover scent(coolwater is my fav), otherwise any other pheromones user who are also using the same products can spot u a mile away. which can be a good or bad thing depending on what the situation is.
i guess i still view pheromones as a form of cheating, and i don’t feel comfortable advertising the fact that i have an unfair advantage over the unsuspecting non-users. and i always thought that once u understand the mechanics behind a magic the power is then stripped away.
the same thing probly apply to pheromones as well. an example would be if i find myself attracted to a girl, and i find out that she’s also a pheromones user, my first impulse would be to back the hell up cuz i KNOW for a fact from personal experience that the effect of pheromones are very powerful, and i wouldn’t wanna become a victim of my own medicine lol. a kind of pheromone superiority/inferiority complex eh?
really? which commercial products? aside from that one that uses opposite gender mones (female mones in male cologne), i forgot the name..
and yup, spare no expense, that’s the concept here. i totally agree. i’d rather buy a product that’s expensive but uber effective than to buy a cheaper product that doesn’t deliver, or not as much.
Pheroproof smells Like Nautica Competition Re-Launch with a soapy drydown. You definitely could not excuse youself and refresh this product because it is definitely cologne strength.

If you didn’t know better, most folks would think PP smells like a typical department store cologne. So it ain’t lightly scented like some of the sour orange EO used in AD products. However it smells great to me and is similar to Chrome but a bit sharper and more pungent. I can’t smell the pheromones at all, so the cover is excellent.
Yeah, I used The Edge for years and found it kickass although it’s as basic as it gets. It really worked for me. But, yeah, it smelled like workout armpit and kitty diddle and required plenty of cover. I never got any negative remarks, even when I asked, but I buried it really well.
oh crap not cuz of nautica competition, oh crap cuz i can’t reapply it in public without having to excuse myself for 20 minutes for the cologne to dry down.
(which probly means i have to hide in a public bathroom for 20mins since that’s usually the only place u can have some privacy to reapply the mones LOL)
ya thats true but.. i dunno just play it off as something else like that ther was some1 who had osme good cologne and u asked if u could try some… that or mayb they wont say nething lol
Oh come on boy, that’s just werid. Nobody gives rat’s tail whether or not your cologne has dried. Besides, it normally only takes a few minutes to dry.
I just bought a bottle of Competition (yellow bottle) at Ross ($14.99) and, I agree, both Ammo and PP smell almost exactly like it. There are slight differences–due to pheromone presence?–but so small it doesn’t matter. The scent seems to be a little more concentrated in the pheros products. Seems a little longer lasting as well. Perhaps the pheromomes “fix” the scents better?

ur kidding right? with all the uber mixes everybody’s experimenting on here, most of them consists of at least 4-7 products combined. even if it’s only 1 spray per product(which is often not the case, usually 2 sprays), that’s enough cologne power to kill any living insects within a 10 feet radius lol. and the dry down can take as much as 3 hours depending on the product…cough AMMO cough.
Even though it is cologne strength it is not an obtrusive scent like Halston or Brut. It is very nice so even if the smell is a little too strong it still smells good and is very tolerable.
I assume you’re exaggerating for dramatic effect. I live in the humid tropics where drydown is s-l-o-w. I’ve used dozens of premixed phero products, chemset products, and colognes for years. Not one product using an alcohol carrier–zero–took more than a minute to completely dry. Normally I need to reapply after 3 or 4 hours as the effects have faded.
Some of my mixes use 4 or 5 different chemset pheromones mixed with cologne in an atomizer. It dries just as quickly as 1 or 2 pheromone components or plain cologne.
uh…maybe there’s some misunderstanding here, i thought cologne drydown time = time it takes for the scent to fade…not how fast the alcohol dries on the skin?

Trust me you don’t want that! Unscented and scented pheros will behave very different with different diffusion rates and you will NOT get the same effects. Premixed products with particular scents are sold like that here for a reason. I have found the Ammo scent itself and how it holds down some pheromones and diffuses others faster has also something to do with the effects you see with these premixed products. It’s best to always get the original way they are sold, because that’s how they were tested and found to be the most effective.

at least i can still pour on The Edge sandalwood like no mayana (8 sprays was my record, in public) and no worries about OD or scent kamikaze :-P.
