thursday night i decided to go and find an old friend that i haven’t seen in about 5 or 6 years… we used to work together & were social friends as well… flirty friends… you know the type…we kind of had a crushes on each other, but left it at that. needless to say, he’s a really wonderful person & I was regretting losing touch. I had heard he had gotten married and moved & I basically just wanted to catch up & see how he was.
so a friend and i stop by a bar i think he works at to have a drink. He’s not there, but the bartended tells me he’ll be there tomorrow night. he says he’ll tell him i came by. ..i say i’ll probably be back … we finish our drink,we get the check and he asks whay were leaving so soon??? we say goodbye & maybe see you tomorrow. he gives me the cork from the champagne bottle he just opened for me…souvenir… I take it. we leave.
friday night—blizzard !!!
my friend and i brave the storm to go back to the bar to see my friend.
he can’t believe it. lot’s of wows, hugs, long looks… then says, so you live in _______ right? I say no, actually, I just moved, but how do you know that??! he says well, basically he googled me, stalked me online(dying laughing) says i never returned his calls… etc etc…we sit down for a drink & are catching up —being a super talkative, tells me he was just talking to a friend about winning the lottery & what they would do w/ the money…he somehow comes up with the idea that he would want to by a piece of art that I’ve always wanted in a local restaurant for me…asks me if I still hate mayonniase, if my mom still lives in__________… proving that basically knows more about me and what makes me tick than any man I’ve actully ever dated
but basically it was all harmless cathcing up…he is married & that’s not my scene…
in the meantime— the bartender from the night before( a great friend of his )just as attentive to me if not more. (i’m also playing hangman with the man to my left somehow) so we got pretty tipsy and that other bartender was hitting on me ,but carefully – (after all he was witnessing the exchanges beteen my old friend and i)— writing down phone numbers and handing them to me all night… not knowing if any or all of them were his… he was piquing my interest, definitely…were all having a great time, i’ve got a pile of numbers e-mail adresses from him and even a song refrain…this was the kicker
Green grows the laurel and soft falls the dew
Sorry am I love I´m parted with you
Sorry am I love, contented must be
She loves another far better than me.
singed with an email address…
mind you he was a nerdy alty rocker type —just my type…
do i reply???/
lor this is all because of you baby…
my evil mad scientist !!!
this all involved instant sexy a & b w open honesty with an eow chaser
that’s ok - time is on your side. As Lor said - he’s got plenty of opportunity to run his game, throwing numbers and emails etc at you, maybe his standard MO, maybe it’s not.
If it is his MO, most will jump on that and call him right away. If you don’t, then the perception is you aren’t really falling for the ploy. But that’s when you engage him on an intellectual level.
If it’s not his MO - and this is something totally out of the ordinary - when you do get back to him on his level, he’ll be all the more impressed, because he thought maybe you’d forgotten about him.
honestly tho - all i’d do is email your preferred lyrics back. maybe with a “nice meeting you the other night” or something else - and add your number. That’s it.
Just real minimalistic. don’t explain yourself, don’t acknowledge anything much more than that. Now it’s a cat and mouse game.
incidentally - do you know where that little snippet is from?
Hmmm, I LOVE this reaction. Oh, I am SO GO FOR IT, what’s the hurt in replying? Be brief. Be cute n breezy. And let them ASK YOU for YOUR number etc. PLAY! PLAY! PLAY!
By the way. I know plenty of guys who prefer that girls make the first move. If this is considered “acting like a man”, I guess a lot of guys like manly women?
Ahaha . . . that post made me laugh. He’s probably just bitter because no one is coming up and hitting on HIM. Poor guy. Even pheromones can’t fix rude (ie, to a woman, very unattractive).
Kinda funny he refered to “us men”. First off, insulting a woman who enjoys flirting and turning men on? Not manly. In fact, most men would probably wonder if he were batting for the other side. Also, it’s a proven statistic that most men prefer that women make the first move (even if it’s just a wink or something), which puts him in the serious minority. If he doesn’t want aggresive women, hanging out at a pheromone forum is not exactly the smartest thing he ever did.
i wanted to know the thread or post she made that was out-of-control MANLY enough to cause a guy on this forum to feel insecure about his own manhood.
i mean, have you guys got a look at nunya?
of course that repper is intimidated.
but i guess the point im getting at is that talking about it here instead of where it happened isnt letting the neg repper know that it is YELLOW and COWARDLY to not-sign your rep. that,my friend, is the least MANLY thing a repper can do.
what he says essentially is this:
im going to be less than a man and let you know that your “acting” like a man in my eyes makes me feel even worse about myself than i did previously. because i am not feeling very masculine, i will hide and not give you my name.
doubt he is seeing or reading this.
i am all for neg repping where appropriate.
where might that be?
not in many places HERE, because of how polite this particular forum is.
i would neg rep someone whos ideas or posts were hurtful or unproductive, and not to me but to the forum in general.
maybe that person wasnt aware of impact?
anyway, to neg rep over a strong personality is flattering.
