Hey there castlerock I wouldnât even worry about it. There was once a very negative person going around neg-repping people, especially the men, but wasnât brave enough to sign them. Usually when a person says something like that they are hurting inside and try to use an anonymous internet rep point (+ or -) as a form of control.
Itâs only a way for them to feel more powerful, usually brought on by some form of emotional trauma and them not being comfortable enough with their own healing. Lashing out, unfortunately is todayâs way of dealing with that trauma and as humans, all we can do is try to embrace that persons hurt and let them know its OK to hurt. However, in reaching out to them we need to also let them know it is not OK to perpetuate the hurt, by hurting others.
A very close and dear friend of mine adopted a 2 year old boy, who was born addicted to crack. Horrible! The child was raised by a foster mother who, by all accounts, did not care about him only the state check she received monthly. This woman suddenly died from a cancer that swept through her body. Now her own children would be raised by someone else. Thank God she had family who took her daughters in, but not the boy.
You see, the boy was black! The boy was addicted to crack at birth! The boy was learning disabled and trauma was thrust into his tiny world! It was all he knew. The first time my friends saw him, it was the only thing to do. They didnât choose him, he chose them. My friends spent an entire year dealing with the outbursts, tantrums, all holy hell of this childâs only known world. The only way to get through was not punishment or admonishment, but hugs. Thatâs right, you read me right: we hugged that boy until the pain stopped. He was hurting and no more hurting would solve it only the love of everyone that met him. That boy is the head of his class today and boy am I proud of him.
I spent many nights in that house with my nephew, my friend, giving time to his parents. He taught us more than we could ever teach him. Iâm not writing this for you, more than I am writing it for the person who negged you.
Dear anonymous reper, I see an opportunity to grow. An opportunity to embrace everything thatâs awesome in the world. Happiness and love is the cure. Call me, lets talk. I am sure that we can help each other.
I wonder if itâs the same person who neg repped Woofie in this thread: Tips for dating online, singles ads - #2 by Wolfy
I donât think you are, but I wouldnât worry about it castlerock. What I said in the thread I linked to above? The same goes here. ![]()
My My we have a heckler, Dont let it bother you, its says more about them then it does about you. Its easy to hide in the backround and insult people. Standing up in the open and stating your opinion in a non judgemental way is harder, but says alot more about your character.
Believe me I have been called worse then worm. ![]()
Tisha
Iâve had anonymous neg-reps myself, so I know how that feels.
I agree with everyone else here, it could be worse, castlerock. If a woman sees you nekkid and shouts âWORM!â Then, youâve got real problems⌠![]()
no, they just laugh and point and then take off.
i joke, i joke. they only do that if they are drunk. ![]()
Sweeeet.
Anger issues anyone? ![]()
Iâve had that happen with all my clothes on ⌠lol.

Amen sister. ![]()
LOLâŚainât it the truth.
Love reps, castlerock.

Btw, what does this mean âDONT THINK NO RING MEANS NO COMMITMENT!â. Which post was it referring to castlerock?
You shouldnât be worried though, as long as its reps, neg or pos, it doesnât matter, enjoy the attention!![]()
The worst neg rep I got was âblah blah blah âŚâ.
Yes, exactly that, nothing else in the comment! My understanding is that the neg repper thought I was rambling and long-winded.
Am I right, or did I misunderstand?
Sorry to hear that, but you know what? A rep doesnât mean that much anyways (unless someone compliments you ofcourse
). Bleh, I think I got neg repped once for no reason in the intro section, there was no comment, and it was anonymous when I started off in the forum. Kinda made me feel a bit awkward at first, but then I didnât care about it after 5 mins lol
Anyways something ridiculous like this, shouldnât even get taken seriously cause this person is probably dealing with issues about herself, and sheâs just trying to get it off her chest by neg-repping the guys. Who knows, maybe sheâs had so much drama and bad experiences with the âwrongâ men, that whenever she gets a chance to flame at a guy in the forum, she does by neg-repping people
wow steve, youâre so nice to even ask this person to talk to you! I hope the neg repper sees your kind post and atleast takes an effort to stop it.
Steve that is quite an insightful post. I tried to rep you but the system told me I had to spread the love around more first. ![]()
To Castlerock: I wouldnât worry too much about what the neg repper had to say. As some have already pointed out apparantly there has been a bit of negs going around lately. Not to mention all she knows of you is what she reads here. It isnât easily possible to make any real value judgment about a person based off of information found online.
What a beautiful story!!!
It is sad that people spew hate to deal with the pain within. It is much better to give yourself love instead:
Cook yourself a nice soup.
Buy a fragrant massage oil and give yourself a massage.
Go to bed early, with a novel and relaxing tea.
Write yourself a love letter.
Buy roses and chocolates for yourself.
Bake cookies for yourself.
Play soothing music.
Go on a long walk in a pretty park.
I received neg rep too. Mine was harsh.
Donât worry about it. It is a compliment. He /She is doing that simply because you are better off.
that was an excellent post Steve.
where do you find these âneg repâ things at? iâve probably got hundreds by now with some of the posts iâve made. if i donât, i probably havenât pushed the envelope enough haha.
Click on âuser CPâ , top left of main page, and your good and bad reps are listed there. ![]()
thanks tisha i found it. is there any way to check history? i can only see like 5 and someone has threatened to chop off my fingers to keep me from posting anymore lol.
I did it in a fit of jealousy, after reading your âtonsil deep in fourâ post ![]()
![]()
Definitely kudos to that family and to you Steve. Working with troubled youth certainly takes a great deal of empathy and patience.
That is harsh. It would make it very diffcult to follow Butterflyâs advice:
Well, you know thatâs kind of a personal matter - but I guess you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes ⌠![]()
This seems to be a growing trend, I got burned a couple of times for posts I made, I think it is pretty childish to do it anomalously, and on posts that you donât reply to.
for the nameless woman negatively repping guys, watch your back we will find you!
So, Am I a Pompous Ass?
He wasnât polite enough to include his name, but was nice enough to neg rep me with this comment. I am absolutely positive it came from Anabolic Xtreme though!
He posted the bio of one of his pheromone formulators in the thread. That bio included a bunch of fluff and no substance, so I pointed out that there was nothing concrete or verifiable.
So, does that make me a pompous ass? ![]()
