To the phantom negative repper on PheroTalk

Please identify yourself so that I can negative rep you back

You can probably narrow it down by how much your points changed. That’ll at least give you a good idea of what level this person is. Although it’ll most likely be someone without much rep, since i don’t think the older members would do something like that. :frowning:

lol, that is really sad!

I’ll make it up for ya, here’s some reps!

What a chicken! I’ve got no problems with people disliking or disagreeing with me as long as they have the balls to do so to my face… Anonymous neg repping? Pathetic…

With Selva’s rep power, i’m sure you just got 10x a boost of what any neg repper could take away. Go go Selva! To the rescue!

I’ll rep you too. I can’t stand cowards.

Diane

Reps for ripping the negative repper!

It’s been said by those before me, but cowardice is just straight lame.

Don’t even acknowledge it further. Not worth your time.

Snake, neg repping is merely some pathetic loser’s way of making themselves feel better. The vast majority on here recognise and appreciate you input. Chill, ignore the morons and stop pinching all our british girls!

Reps

The only pinching I’ve been doing is on their bottoms

Thanks for the support guys n’ gals.

And still he or she refuses to show face…

do you know which post was neg repped?
can you narrow down the time frame?

i have no problem personally with neg reppers, even if they dont sign.
i get good ones without sign, too.

i think the only issue is that neg repping doesnt do what its set out to do if we dont have an understanding of why its being done.

im not convinced the neg repper is a coward.

probably someone who disagrees and thought this was the proper action to take. probably a newbie.

two quick questions? how do you negative rep someone and where does it show up?

When you click on the “add to someone’s reputation” button, you get the option of “i approve” or “i disapprove.” Then it’ll show up the same place as any other rep’s (User CP) but will have red beside it instead of green.

see now Tommy Fever has been on for a while and that would be a simple mistake to make.

maybe mr/ms neg repper really didnt know what they were doing?

id like to think so.

Yes there are and yes she would, if she could get back in the forum again! There’s a very well known member over at the unmentionable place that used to be active here but is now banned, who snuck in several months ago and negged a bunch of the men for no reason, and the comments she wrote were just to bash us and made it clear that she has a real chip on her shoulder toward guys.

We do have the occasional cowards too, who have no problem negging a member, but won’t reply in the thread or give their name when negging.

If the comments were of a “male bashing” nature, you may want to PM it to Steve.

I agree Lor, but I don’t think that’s the case, because when you rep someone it defaults to a positive rep, unless you make a conscious effort and actually click the “I Disapprove” radio button.

I’ve only negged like 3 people since I’ve been on the forum, and only because they werre being very insulting, derogatory or abusive to other members. Well, unless you count the spammers, then it would be a whole lot more, but I don’t consider them people so they don’t count.

The last neg rep I tried to give was awhile back and was to a flamer that came here only to stir up trouble and cause problems, and he had a real hornets nest brewing. I accidentally positive repped him instead, forgetting to check the neg button. Then I had to run around repping a bunch of other people, before I could go take back the reps I gave the punk.

Let me ask you snake: Was the rep you received red? If the box was blueish gray or green that’s not a neg. Blueish gray means the person tried to rep you, but does not have rep power yet. In which case you have pretty much told that person off for giving you props. Users without rep power (our newest users) cannot neg rep. I would think if that’s the case you owe them an apology.

Now if it was red, well then they negged you.

Steve

The box was purple in colour, and unless I’m coolurblind it looks like a cross between blue and red, but it’s very hard to tell. I assumed it was a neg rep as it looked different in colour to the positive reps I get when I get them, also there was no name of member who gave me those reps.

To be honest, I didn’t know that there was a system where new members who weren’t sure what they were doing would rep someone and it would look blue. I did my research on appropriate threads and from my knowledge there was only positive and negative reps, nothing else possible. But if it was the case that someone did try to give me positive reps then I am sincerely sorry and disregard the rant on this thread I started.

BTW, it was on a post in the lounge where I got neg repped. I can’t remember what the title of the thread was, but it was about the time a guy should wait before calling a girl after he gets her number, and I offered my sincere and most thoughtful advice at the time.

I do sincerely apologise again if it was actually what Steve might have suggested rather than negative repping. But I’m still not 100% convinced this is the case. I can’t tell whether that square was blue or red.

I’ma guess that it was either a dark blue or black color, right? That means it was a “neutral rep” or someone who didn’t have enough rep points tried to be nice to you. I had no idea about that either until someone did it to me and i researched what each color meant. I thought it was a neg rep as well though, initially.

funny how a misunderstanding can cause a stir like this.

benefit of the doubt is best on this forum, where you cant always tell how to take someone
