Memories of Intoxicating Smells

Yeah I liked the vanilla on my ex very much. I liked it on myself even. I’m weird  I liked it when I mixed some EOs (and pheros) and was smelling like cake mix or something.

I know what you mean. When I was a kid, we used to go cut firewood in northern Idaho. I’d forgotten that piney, woody, rich soil smell. A few years ago, I was in Red River, NM and it smelled the same. I dragged a blanket out to the edge of the forest, shut my eyes, and was transported back to my childhood. The only thing missing was Casey Kasem on the staticky AM radio.

Ahh yes but cowpie washes off in the guggling brook easy enough so its worth it.

Brunswick Georgia on a summer night…magnolias and salt marsh. It sounds nasty but it’s intoxicating.

Ah dunno about cowpie but ah loves the scent of fresh cut rosemary, tomato leaves when disturbed (brushed) and freshly cracked ginger root. Probably a bucket of newly curved maryjane buds are mah all time fav.

Ahhhh I love the smell of tomato leaves. When I was little I had to hold the basket while my dad did the picking. Good times

Cat,
Ummmm… what pheros did you apply before going to bed to dream of platypuseseseses???

Gegogi - there is a MJ scented perfume on the perpetual kid website… I haven’t looked at the Demeter site yet, but it’s probably there, too.

Sounds like many other members have fond memories of smells they’d like to recapture.

Whilst hunting on the web I found another company similar to Demeter that create fragrances that capture a time/place/event/feeling.

CB I Hate Perfume

They have some wonderful sounding perfumes…I have not tried any but please write and let the forum know if you have done so.

BTW: For the tomato leaf lovers, both Demeter an CBIHP have tomato leaf smelling products:

Strong dark tea

Pipe tobacco

Coal smoke on a crisp morning

Saddle leather

The smell of a horse

A slow moving river

A mountain stream

Wild mushrooms

Truffles

A woman in afterglow

OoohYahhh

I just love the smell of a nice clean man.

The sublime scent of wafting honeysckle blossoms, growing on the fence, when I was a child.

The scent of Grampas’ amphora pipe tobacco and, of course, the eternal aroma of Grandmas’ baking bread.

There are, also, the not so fond memories…the Channel 22 I wore…my boyfriend, at the time, loved it! When we broke up I could never wear it again because it reminded me of him.

Bella

Hi Bella, I know what you mean about perfumes; they seem to attach themselves to emotions of times/places/people. My ex used to wear Cacharel pour Homme. I loved the scent on him…but after a very painful break up I can’t go near that scent. It triggers something deep and raw inside me.

I do love the smell of newly cut grass as it instantly transports me back to summer days at school, with the birds singing and the cut school lawns.

Also I love the smell of the rain, especially on a hot road. You know when it hasn’t rained for a few weeks and then you get a shower and the water reacts with the road surface to release a unique aroma. I have no idea what it is…probably a mix of some horrible toxins from car exhaust :stuck_out_tongue:
But whatever it is it smells wonderful and transports me to summer holidays. Ahhhh…

OooYahhh - some of the scents you want are on the B&I website…

Tigger, I been thru this thread backwards and forwards. I can’t find a lead to B&I. Guess i’ll just have to settle for demeters Redhead In Bed.

Is this it?

Is this what you’re lookin’ for? They have paddles.

Bathed & Infused

That’s them, Cat. Thanks!

Thanks Babes,

Neat stuff. Even the price is right. (Important, since i’ve busted the budget with pheros)

I’m gonna try the tea scents and maybe a place aroma like Moroco. (Whats the difference between a scent, an aroma, and a smell?)

I thought it was odd that a hardcore foodie like me was not attracted at all to the gourmand scents. I’m concerned that i might have snipped a few of the wrong wires while i was studying that correspondence brain surgery course.

You’re not alone. We’re in the minority here, I think. There are stidies that attest to the attraction of certain foody smells. Like men being attracted to the scent of pumpkin pie, cinnamon buns, etc.

I may be a cupcake, but I don’t like smelling like one.
