Might be daft but...

..do the pheromone products have sell by dates? Don’t know if there called the same in the USA but I mean can the products go off or something to that effect.

I just went and looked at my bottles and didn’t see any “sell by” dates. But I don’t see any on perfume or cologne either.

I think pheromones ar generally pretty stable molecules, being breakdown products of hormones they are already “broken.” I generally keep them away from heat and light anyway, as I do perfumes.

Perhaps an oldtimer can give us some idea of the shelf life. I’d expect it to be years or decades in a cool dark environment.

I think some company is marketing oxytocin as a pheromone. Oxytocin is a hormone itself as opposed to a fragment. It may be an exception to the above as I’d expect it to be considerably more delicate.

I have not come across any mone that has a use by date. My experience tells me that mones can be kept for years as long as store them in a decent environment. That is, no sunlight, high heat, high humidity and with their caps closed. My old PI was still effective after some 2-3 years in a drawer.

i don’t believe the fragrances would go bad. believe me im not a scientist or cosmetics specialist here  but ive had a bottle of the first abercrombie and fitch cologne sitting in my cabinet for probably close to a couple years (the first one wat i mean by that is the one that is now discontinued. had no name either just AnF) but like there is at least 20 sprays left and it still smells the same as when i first opened it. i believe as long as u don’t expose your pheros to direct air (ex: open the bottles for extended periods u should be good for a while) lol might have to have sum one experiment. but im basing this on how colognes last

Well most are “preserved” in alcohol carriers. So if stored in a dark cool place should last a long time. I have bottles of The Edge, Chikara and IMPI from several years ago and they seem just as potent as ever. I have even older colognes and they have changed little if any in terms of scent.

Now if you left a bottle open for a long time it would probably evaporate in a few days due to the high alcohol content.

There was only one water based product I have heard of, Perception, and mine went funky after a few months. Looked like stuff was growing in there. No loss as it didn’t do jack for me.
