I was going through some posts on the forum and I have a few questions:
If i mix A1 concentrate into Jhonson and Jhonson baby oil and then apply it, would it be effective? I believe it is lighter than the oil used for A314 so would it give me a longer diffusion time?
What if I mixed it in a lotion like Vaseline lotion for men or into Vaseline Petroleum jelly?
I am in at a place that has temperatures of almost 30-34C (85-95F) and humidity around 60-100% (especially in the coming Monsoon season). What would be good?
I was going to mix it into Aquavelva Musk Aftershave-Cologne for men and use it as a spray, but then thought I’d find out about this and use it this way instead if it would make A1 last longer.
Another thing that I thought of was that if I use it with oil, I would have to use more of A1 to get the initial hit and would risk an OD. If I mix it in oil, would it inhibit the bacterial conversion on the skin?
I was thinking to clean my skin with hand sanitizer so that it kills the bacteria on the area of application (say the neck), and ideally that should make A1 last longer before converting into -none. Much of it would have diffused and thus when it converts, there would be lesser chances of an OD. Does this make any sense?
Since I have a 5ml bottle of LS A1, I’ll be mixing the whole thing in 25ml of baby oil/cologne to get 25mcgm/spray.
I’ll let someone with more experience with A1 to answer on your bacteria questions but AD does sell DPG as a stand alone. I’m thinking that would be a better option for you instead of baby oil. I would be more concerned about the heat especially right now. I have a friend who lives there as well and he’s had a hard time with pheros since it’s all alcohol based.
Haha..you know the funny part? I just ordered some pheromones from AD today. Now ordering DPG would mean paying a bomb for the shipping. And baby oil is cheap and smells like babies.
Anyway jokes aside, I was really wondering about baby oil, since it is mainly mineral oil. And the one I am particularly interested is the one with Aloe and something else.
Yeah the heat is pretty bad. Humidity makes it even worse.
Yea I know about shipping all too well. My ex gf lives in Mumbai and yea…very expensive :-/ That’s how I know about the heat as well, though I was there in Feb so not as bad as it is now
Well, my only thing is that I haven’t any idea how mineral oil would affect A1 not to mention I don’t personally find the smell particularly appealing.
That is one of the things I thought about too. I presume it really shouldnt make a difference but if the molecules of the oil are lighter than the molecules of A1, they would probably stick to the molecules of A1 and hinder the effect it has. I barely managed to get an E on my chemistry exam in high school so…U know what I’m implying.
Wow. We were in the same city a couple of months, maybe even bumped into each other
Well, I read this post about Vaseline (petroleum jelly) and I think it was Tisha who said that its too thick (and viscous) to allow phero molecules to diffuse freely. So I think Vaseline is out of the question.
A1 in alcohol, eg the lovescent product, won’t mix into baby oil at all well and you will also need to remember a scented component and that the slower diffusion means you will need to use a much higher dose of A1 itself. Then you will have to be patient because an oil mix needs several weeks for the pheros to diffuse through the oil - unless you have access to an agitator/electric stirrer, which would shorten the process to a few days.
There are a couple of good threads on A1 oil mixes in this forum if you want to search.
If it helps any, I have found that applying A1 in a cologne mix over lotion/moisturiser on cleaned/sterilised skin does help prolong its effectiveness and slow its breakdown into unpleasant smelling compounds.
Oh yeah!! now when you said this, I looked it up and here is what I found out
So I guess I stick to the old plan of mixing it with my aftershave-cologne.
About the cleaning/sterilisation of skin using hand sanitizer I thought should kill bacteria, effectively slowing down conversion. The aftershave-cologne is alcohol again and so is anti-bacterial and so it should help.
I really cant use lotions and creams with glycerin or moisturising agents because I have an oily skin (highly active sebaceous glands) and glycerin just makes it worse. Gives me a terrible tan too (yes we Indians like lighter skin). Is DPG available at chemists or in scientific shops?
Dude, I live in Central California, during the summer months it breaks the hundred degree F. mark for 2 months straight…I’m talking 105-112 easy.
I’ve found that when I use a shower gel that includes moisturizers and following the shower I use a little mens body lotion to the area’s of my application points that my alc based spray mones last a little longer.
For example I normally get about 4 hours of effect during the summer here from my sprays…between 5 and 6 during the winter.
However when I use the above method during the summer months I get about 6 hours of effect unless I’m extremely active.
During the summer I use Dial since it has both moisturizers to help the mones last longer, and antibacterial agents since skin bacteria can one type of pheromone into another thus altering your desired effect.
A1 becoming AlphaNol, and AlphaNole becoming None and None becoming useless rank funk. (thanks to Geogi for this info).
Not sure how mineral oil would work or if it’s even a good idea health wise. Healthy moisturizers would be Aloe, Lanolin and Vitamin E. I know bodybuilders that use baby oil to actually speed up dehydration so as to display definition and vascularity better. So while it may make your mones last longer it could possibly speed up dehydration to an unhealthy degree.
Better to use healthy skin moisturizers and maybe increase your vitamin E intake so your natural perspiration will have a higher oil content.
I would imagine a chemist would be able to get DPG but maybe only in larger quanties? Here it is about £5 ($7-8 dollars) for half a kilo of fluid, so it may be easier looking for it in places that do aromatherapy supplies or the like.
When I said 85-95F, that was about Mumbai where I go for college and would be making the maximum use of the pheromones. I am originally from is in North India (Allahabad) which too has temperatures reaching upto 118 (highest recorded so far), so I know what you mean.
That is something that I dont think I’d want to increase. I already have a pretty moist skin, but I’ll definitely try this:
We don’t get Dial Magnetic here as far as I know, but I bet there would be equivalents available, like Adidas shower gels…?
Well, Dial Magnetic has A1 in it and I don’t think any other company has such a product shrugs
Side note: Uh, I misspoke, I was there a year ago, in Feb, so not likely that we would have run into each other. Going to University of Bombay I take it?
Oh..I dont know about the product, I thought it just clears your skin of any pheromones that might be natural or left over from the last application. I would like it that way so I know exactly what’s happening with the tiny or big amount of -mones that I may be applying. Which means I can essentially use any non/low fragrance body wash.
I’ll try and use one which moisturizes like RADMAN said.
Like I said earlier I want the A1 to diffuse slowly and steadily, would mixing it into skin creams and gels like aloe vera gels, or Vaseline for men. I read posts where they apply the pheromones over the area or point of application of these creams. But what if I mix it INTO the cream or gel?
How would I know the concentration of the mix?
I know I might be sounding repetitive but I genuinely want opinions of experienced users.
Based off of this I would advise against doing it this route. I’m assuming you’re talking about mixing the mones into a container full of whatever product you would be using. With these kinds of liquids it’s unlikely that the mones would evenly dilute into the base and create a solution that you could get reliable and predictable results from.
In other words you could apply your mone laced baby oil one day and get an ideal concentration for your needs and the next day get too much or too little.
There’s threads around on how to mix A1 into an alc based spray with even consistent doses that you could spray and then cover with a moisturizing body lotion.
I even think somebody here posted instructions on how to make oil based A1 but they were using the same oils from Andotics that are used in A314 which would give better and more consistent results than with some over the counter oil that’s not meant to be used for fragrance diffusion.
Those are really the methods I can advise if you want predictable diffusion.
When I used A1 with baby oil I first had the A1 mixed and diluted with cologne at a certain dosage (search: A1 Guide for the recipes). Then I would pour just a little of baby oil into my hand and then shoot 3-4 sprays of A1 into the oil and then apply it on usually to the arms and some around the neck.
Depending on the circumstance I went up 6 sprays sometimes but as always be wary of the men around you because it can dampen their mood greatly however when I used this method I often got compliments on it, even hours after applying it, say 8 hours after application.
Mixing in DPG is something I haven’t ventured into yet, mainly because I’ve yet to find a good site to order EOs from so I can mix it with my A1.
That is what I am looking forward to. I would like the diffusion to last as long as possible.
So yeah, that is what I am going to do too. I’ll make the mix in regular cologne and then while applying I would mix it into some baby oil or skin cream and then apply it.
I made a batch of A1 oil with baby oil, but I found it was to thin to get correct dosing. The second batch I made had 25% glycerin, made the oil thicker and easier to dose. Unfortunately I didnt close the bottle properly and it dried up. Third batch was with dpg oil and 20% glycerin, haven’t used it much since i made a 30ml bottle of IFM a couple days later.
Adding it to another product like oil or lotion can be tricky. There are all sorts of problems that arise.
Baby oil in itself is non diffusive. Its going to hold onto the A1 and keep it close to the skin and it wont bind to the molecules. You need a binder in the baby oil to bind and diffuse just like you would with any other oil product. Some pure EO’s have good binding qualities like neroli for instance. Some not so much. Some have good sillage which means they leave a vapor trail and some stay close to the body. Now if your buying your A1 with a scent included already you should be fine with the method of spraying it into some oil in your hand and spreading it on but keep in mind that oil diffuses slowly and promotes bacterial conversion especially with something like A1 which converts easily when exposed to heat and bacteria.
If you add it to a bottle of baby oil there are other factors to consider as well. Binding of molecules, preserving of molecules. Pheromones will convert in untreated oil rapidly.
Gels tend to not bind well with mone so I never had any luck using gel.
Cream/lotion are heavy as well and will do the same as oil. Using the palm method would be superior over putting in directly in the tub of lotion. Putting it in the tub works well with something like copulins because copulins are technically not pheromones they are fatty lipids and acids.
Vaseline based products will not bind or mix at all with mones. Vaseline creates a moisture barrier. If you applied your mones then used vaseline to cover they would never diffuse off your body. It would create a barrier keeping the mones on the skin. It you apply your mones over the vaseline it would diffuse quickly because it they would sit on top of the barrier.
Really if you dont know how to mix mones you should not be mixing them in with other products directly. People ruin perfectly good mones this way all the time. The controlled layer method would work better for you.
I really need to know where your getting your A1 and what its suspended in to give a good answer.
Are you buying dry crystal form or is it diluted down already into a carrier ? If its already diluted down with the proper binders and carriers what did they use to carry it ? Is it from LS which wont mix with oil or lotion and needs to be further diluted ?
