If you’re worried about conversion on the skin, you could dissolve some monolaurin into whatever carrier you decide on. It’s powerfully antimicrobial and also extends diffusion time. I’ve found that with a little of that stuff dissolved in a spray (10%), I can actually use the pheromone spray as deodorant.
Others have reported good results from pre-treating the application area with alcohol-based hand sanitizers.
