I ordered a book from US, shipped on December 14th, arrived yesterday January, 25th. It took 42 days!
Was that priority shipping or book rate ?
I hate to admit it becaus I work for the post office and there is a certain amount of loyalty I feel my fellow workers but not for the upper management. After 911 congress really tighten there reigns on the airlines and in turn they impossed certain rules upon the postal service. All mail used to fly in the cargo bay of commercial airlines to its destination. With the ban on liquids certain packages cant. Those go by truck or boat and this is why they are taking so long.
Companies like DHL and Fed ex have there own planes. Congress will not allow us to get our own. I can understand why Androtics dosnt want to use Global. There is just no way around it they take to long. I do believe UPS has its own fleet and I am unsure why they dont use them and Fed ex. Maybe that the prices are even higher then DHL.
I wish I could tell you that the USPS was going to improve but with all the new regulations they are imposeing its not likely.
The newest regulation just handed down from upper management is we are not allowed to except anything over 13 ounces that is being mailed out with stamps from a mailbox. Metered stamps are ok. People have to bring mail with stamps to the lobby at the PO and get them manually cleared and marked with a special seal or the airline will not allow them on there planes.
Its only going to get worse unfortunatly.

I ordered very early morning on wednesday the 23rd, Central Australia time. My package was posted Within 24 hours.
The 27th today and by the DHL tracking thingy (sorry, I’m excited, I keep the damn page open just to see if its moved on yet) 
and the parcel has arrived in my state capital by lunch time, only 650km (sorry for those who use miles) by road.
VERY impressed with DHL. Just gotta wait for the customs clearance, and it’ll be here. Guessing Tuesday, maybe. Pretty good.

The (used) book only cost USD 2.95, but the postage cost is USD 12.49! The funny thing about the package was , it does not have US stamps on it and does not carry USPS label!
Now i know why Americans make jokes about the us mail lol
One parcel is bad enough but two!!!

I find it sad really, The US postal service is like a american institution. People see us everyday, They know us, They love to hate us (snort) But with all these regulations its getting harder to compete. There has been alot of talk about going private and pulling away from the government and if that happens our prices will go up to the same as our competitors.
I know from the weekly meetings postal officals are working hard with congress to come up with a solution to the problems terrorism has caused for us. Hopefully they will come up with something before its to late.

Seriously thats way to long to wait for shipping. Send an email to aprshipping and see if SteveO can track it or something. Not sure how much he can do but I know both Steve and Jas bend over backwards for there customers. Dang your a patient man. LOL
This is precisely the reason they had to stop using Global. DHL seems to make it through with no problems.
