My ride to conquer cancer

Well I decided to be part of this event. I have not been part of a event like this before. Here are some details. I have attached a sample letter. I have a personal page set up to the donations going to the cancer foundation. Any contribution will help. If these contributions or system violates the forum rules moderators feel free to take it down.

I know I’ve told you about my brother and his struggle with cancer. Although I can help take care of him and support him, I always feel like I can’t do enough. Until now. I’m not a scientist and can’t find a cure on my own, but I can and will be participating in an event called The Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting BC Cancer Foundation. Through this event, I can help prevent other families from having to struggle with this disease.

The Ride to Conquer Cancer is a two-day bike ride from Vancouver to Seattle. Crazy, eh?! Me, riding two days in a row, with thousands of other people. As you can image, riding that far is not going to be a simple feat for me. I’ll have to train and get in shape. But I’m excited that I can finally do something this big in the fight against cancer.

I know you understand why this is so important to me, and know why I’m asking for your financial support. My goal is to raise $2 500 and I really hope you’ll help me get there or hey, even beat it. It’s hard asking my family and friends for money, but this cause and this event are very important to me. I hope that you can donate any amount of money. I figure if everyone on my list donates $100, I’ll meet my goal. The proceeds benefit BC Cancer Foundation.

I think it’ll be cool for Androtics to make an MX with some of the monies going to help your brother. That’ll be cool.

Yes, especially considering how we all love pheromones. However, most and first of all how much we all love our siblings.

Yes non of the money is going to me. It is going to go the the cancer agency here in BC. The 2 day bike ride is not a big deal for me as what lots of people are currently suffering with enduring cancer. The ride was previously done in Toronto so this will be the second year of this event. Tax receipts and all that stuff are sent back to the donor. I am just riding on behalf of the people suffering with cancer. I thought at the beginning it was a little steep to donate $2 500 to enter the ride but hey it goes to a good cause and you feel good it is benefiting others in need.
