On VH1, and his show is obviously gonna be called “The Pickup Artist”. Basically it’s gonna be a bunch of “nerds” (A couple of them virgins or so they claim) and he teaches them how to pick up girls at clubs, bars, etc. Hopefully a good watch since instead of reading his work you get to see it action. I saw the commercial a while ago but can’t find a link to it on vh1.com. Even if the girls we see them hooking up with are paid actresses we still get to see Mystery in action.
That’s sweet. Too bad I can’t see how it wouldn’t be staged. D:
I watched the made for BBC show of Juggler on youtube when it came out (probably still on there) and was completely disappointed by it. Can’t imagine this will be any better, tho given it is mystery, it will undoubtedly be…weirder.
Stage 1: People scream “OMG now people will know my routines!
”
Stage 2: Women watch to feel smug, content to tell themselves (each and every one, each saying the exact same thing, with the exact same vocal inflection, “that would NEVER work on me!”
Stage 3: 99.999% of those that do watch do absolutely nothing. After all, why make an effort to improve your life, that takes work! Oooh what’s that? Hey shiny object!
Stage 4: Life goes one, rinse and repeat.
Yeah, this guy got his girl simply by telling her that her eyes are beautiful. I really don’t think it will do anything to the pick up community as guys will continue to pick up women in order for the species to survive. As far as one night stands are concerned, it may have an impact for those using canned material, but any women willing to put out on the first night regardless of the method used will undoubtedly do so with the exposure of Mystery on VH1. The community itself seems to be going towards more natural game, anyway.
I hope its gonna be real world stuff, I dont really see the value (other than maybe being a little entertaining) of watching some nerds pick up paid actresses. At least, I hope for his credibility that its not like that…

I guess all the dorks I see in Mystery T-shirts can rejoice. Nothing funnier then seeing fat balding men in their late 30’s strutting around bars and clubs in mystery T-shirts. Best part they’re all too chicken shit to even open a set. They want to as they pass a group of goregous girls. Then they get all shaky and walk on by towards the lavatory.
The best is when you start asking them about their PUA and they get all embarassed. Sure you want to stand out from AFC’s, but you better have a killer skill set if you want to flatout show people you’re a PUA. I usually like to ask them if they’re going to lie about dating a stripper monologue or if they’re going to use a metaphor about how we’re all mp3’s in a universal I-pod monologue.

my friend told me about the book one evening over the phone and I didn’t pay much attention to it. But at the apartment i was staying at for the summer, i found it on the shelf and i picked it up started reading it. I thought it was great, except there were some points that just seem so far fetched. Oh well, I’d still say it’s worth the read. It’s the first thing I’ve willingly read in years haha
