So I scored a gig to shoot photos for big after party at Comic Con this thursday and I’m a bit nervous. I shouldn’t be since event photography is something I’ve done quite a bit, albeit just for fun at the skate events/skate video premieres I’ve been to or organized. What makes it a big deal to me is it’s really my first paid gig. Okay and the fact that it’s for Comic con..oh and the editor for the skate mag I work with set this up. I won’t make much off it, but it gets my name out there. It’s a 3-4 hour gig. Mostly industry people from what I’ve been told, 500 people expected.
So I’m wondering what mones I should wear for the purposes of floating around and being a shutter bug? Even if it’s just to calm my jitters! Help please!
You’re looking at this wrong. Have you ever been to comic con? The place is going to be CRAWLING with women dressed up like Wonder Woman, Power Girl, Jessica Rabbit and just about any other fantasy character with a barely there costume. As a paid photographer you’ll have an opener built in, and they’ll respond better to you than they would some yahoo fanboy just taking pics they know he plans on stroking too later…women will be chomping at the bit to pose for you bro.
Oh agreed, for an environment like that I would probably do 3 sprays of Shine, 2 sprays of IO and a single spray of Ammo. A mix like that should be very likable and approachable with an UNDERLYING sexy/attractive vibe. Some people may like a higher dose of IO but I don’t personally like high doses of AlphaNol.
Oh and if you meet a chick going by the name of BelleChere (she’s the Power Girl model above) tell her I would use every trick in my arsenal to get her
brother you just said the wroooong thing j/k. If she didn’t have a man already I might be hounding you for an assist but she’s posted enough pics on flickr that it’s pretty obvious she’s got a bf.
Besides the awesome IS, IO and ammunition mix, mx297 or IG will be able to calm your nerves. Either or, not both at the same time. At least 1 application to your throat and another to your side neck or chest.
You could also consider throwing in 20-40mcgs of P74 if you have it.
The thing is guys, I’m not actually going to comic con. At all. Just an after party. So I’ll be killing time until 9PM. I haven’t really looked at what non badge events I could attend, as my friend just pointed out to me. The after party is mostly for industry sorts, not the general public. And its work, not chatting up gals, especially since one of the ladies in charge said she’s gonna stick by me.
But IS, IO and ammo or Mx297, gotcha Johnny! And yes I have P74. Thank ya Radman and John for the advice too! And I’ll keep an eye out for your lovely lady Radman! hehe.
