I’m new here and totally new to all this, but my experience has been this: only people with bipolar disorder, known or even undiagnosed, have responded to me when I’m wearing pheromones. Unipolar depressives (people with ONLY depressive episodes and not manic ones as well) do not respond at all. I’ve even done a few little experiments that back this up 100 percent of the time! Weird, huh? But fascinating and worth some research, I think…
You said you’ve used pheros before, are you new to the phero’s here? If you are looking to get some of the products here it’s easier for us to point you in the right direction if you tell us a bit more about yourself…What’s your personality like?
What are you hoping to get out of using phero’s? Which particular situations; work, social, romance…?
I would suggest Instant SHine, it’s great for anyone in pretty much any situation. It does what it says on the bottle…it makes you shine It basically gives you a youthful, happy and approachable vibe.
People vary, both in their responsiveness/sensibility to pheromones, and in their ability to control the outward manifestations of shifting mental states. If one thinks of the archetypal bipolar sensitive artistic genius, such a person might show a more obvious response than many others. That doesn’t however mean that your mones have no effect on non-bipolars.
Nice to have a female member on board So you have tried pheros before & you must have some experiences in it. Ok it is good that you decided to try out the pheros here
Ok tell us more about yourself like your personality(shy or outgoing), what goals you aimed to get by using pheros here & what kind of effects you hope to get from them so that we can help you better there
I neglected to mention that when I wasn’t being treated for my bipolar, certain scents would “set off” manic or depressive episodes with a BANG! I’m talking major alcohol drinking, or wild COMPULSIVE spending or cleaning or sex sprees when I was manic, and major, unexplained sadness during a depressive episode. The problem scents I narrowed it down to were pheromones in my 2 favorite perfumes: “Allure” by Chanel, and “Youth Dew” by Estee Lauder. I’m sure there are hundreds of other seemingly “innocent” perfumes that could do it as well. So neddless to say, not a day goes by without my Lamictal! The wrong pheromone to an untreated bipolar person can, in my opinion be CATASTROPHIC, financially, physically, and emotionally. Also, major stresses, good or bad, can set them off; Death of a loved one or pet, childbirth, divorce/marriage, Xmas holidays, job loss, school change in children, a move, etc. You just really have to be on the lookout for the signs of manic or depressive episodes coming on in yourself, and tell your doctor you need a dosage adjustment in your med, or get ON a med if you’re not already. It can make the difference betwee a happy life or a hellish one!
One more observation: All dogs and babies I’ve ever been around have responded to pheromones in a HUGE way. For instance, I can comfort a crying/irritable infant when no one else can, to the astonishment of the parents. (and myself!) And dogs who are mean or won’t go to anyone else will come to me and lick me or nuzzle me, or want to play. It’s just fascinating to me…

Actually, I think the perfume manufacturer adds some type of pheromone to the product. Intentionally or not. But I’m sure they’ve done their research into what ingredients to add to their products to make them “hits”. Or maybe there are naturally ocurring pheromones in certain perfume oils. I’ve read that before. For instance, lavender oil is supposed to be calming, another is supposed to be stimulating, another “sexy”, etc. There has been some research into this; I would have to go back and Google it.
I’m pretty new to all this, and it’s just fascinating to me. Having a great time just looking around.
I’m a 46 year old widow, mom of 4, from the great state of Alabama! Roll Tide, ya’ll!
Off to read the forum and familiarize with the place…

Not sure – like I said, it’s just been my experience with those 2 perfumes. Maybe certain perfume oils just have similar effects to pheromones? Or maybe the manufacturer does indeed add pheromones, and just lists them as “other ingredients” or simply “fragrance”? I wouldn’t put it past them, because it’s a billion-dollar industry, and I’m sure the perfumerers are familiar with pheromones. Marilyn Miglin even sells a perfume called “Pheromone” that’s been around a long time and has quite a devoted & enthusiastic following on the Home Shopping Network. Like I said, it’s worth some investigating. Another perfume worth noting that I just remembered – “Clean” from the Home Shopping Network makes me very drowsy, like I’ve taken a sleeping pill, almost. Maybe it has lavendar oil in it, because research has proven that lavendar has a sleepytime effect to it. Johnson & Johnson even sells a baby lotion and nightime baby bath product with lavender scent that they claim makes infants sleep better.
My name is Tisha and I am a mone expert and hostess here on the forum.
I merged you two threads so all your info is in one. Its easier to keep track of them this way.
First let me clear up that Allure and Youth Dew do not have mones in them so your reaction to them has nothing to do with mones.
That is just the name of it. I inquired about it on the homeshopping network once and was told that no there are no real mones in it.
Secondly mones will not trigger these reactions. If they did whenever you stood next to a sweaty man or a ovulating women it would trigger a reaction.
Certain EO’s and natural scents can however trigger chemical reactions in your brain and cause a emotion. Just like the smell of moms apple pie makes you feel happy and secure.
This is normal, all mammals communicate pheromonally whether they have mental disorders or not. A person with depression or with Bi-polar may just react more predominately because they have more trouble masking emotion then others. Or you may have trouble picking up on the cues given.
Sorry I took so long to respond–been without my computer a few days.
Anyway, like I said, I’m totally new to all this and became especially interested for several reasons. The first is because of a problem I’m having with a very mean, hateful, jealous sister-inlaw. I’ve tried to “kill her with kindness” but that doesn’t work well enough! I was getting desperate, because it causes so much tension in both families, so I thought , hmmm, if kindness didn’t work maybe a pheromone or two will! So, me and my VISA are ready for your suggestions… Thanks for your responses so far, I appreciate it.
Yeah, but these are just scents. Scents can also trigger reactions and memories, but that doesn’t mean that there’s pheromones in it. It’s just like aromatherapy, scents (or some scents) can be used for therapy but that doesn’t mean that it has pheromones in it. So I think that’s probably what you mean, aromatherapy.
