I’m sure you’ll get lots of responses… but…
There are so many products, because there are so many different pheromone molecules. We’ve looked at almost 100 molecules now, and found about 30 different different ones that seem to act as useful human pheromones.
It’s like colors… you have a few of them…and when you mix them, there’s even more! ![]()
In aromatherapy (using plant oils to affect mood), you have maybe 400 different plant oils. They all create different mood effects on their own, and when mixed, create different ones.
You could think of pherones like “aromatherapy X 10”. Not what we have 10 times more human pheromones than plant oils (we don’t yet), but rather, the effects are least 10 times stronger than even the best aromatherapy blends. They’re also much more unique (aromatherapy blends usually involve some sort of relaxation).
Pheromones are basically scent like molecules that you feel, more than you can smell consciously. Yes, many have a smell (mostly human like/skin like, since they are based on molecules naturally found on human skin), but the feelings created and other biological, and subsequently psychological, reactions are more important than the actual conscious odor.
Pheromones are basically the thing we were talking about, but didn’t have a common word for yet, back in the 50s to 70s and thereabouts when we said we had “chemistry” with someone. You don’t hear that term very often anymore, but it’s an appropriate one.
I hope that makes sense.
