Noise is the void gnashing its teeth

It’s been a while since I’ve been around here. I left because I simply had too much to do. I love testing, I love reporting. But I am a student, not only of university, but of the world and the circle of all things it contains. And I found that I could not keep up with all of these things that drew me in, fascinated me, waltzed with me. The tempo was too fast, the beat too fat; the spins whirling and dizzying left me huddled in a corner weeping at my own inability to consume the entire world at once, waiting for the nausea to pass.

I was Icarus and the sun was everywhere at once. But when I finally fell to Earth, and had a chance to rest, I found that I was not destroyed, and my wings were no longer paraffin, but gossamer, silk, steel.

Still, I wasn’t ready to return. There was too much to do, but I did it. I took firmer reign of the reins of my bewildered brain and orchestrated a blitzkrieg. I have accomplished only the smallest fraction of what I one day hope to do, but it is a start, and I have a direction, a plan, or I am content with my lack of a plan and know that everything will fall into place in my growth. “I have destroyed the ring of the horizon and escaped from the circle of things.”

I am a student of the mind and of the brain, and in one sense, I mean this quite literally. I am studying neuroscience. I spend several hours each day in a class where I extract nerves from a body which once contained a person, a beating heart and a churning mind. I tried to eat a bite of a steak a friend of mine ordered at a nice restaurant last night. My stomach turned. The texture was too similar to the calf I had cut into that morning to extract thin bundles of fibers, the axons of nerves descending from the brain into the spinal cord into every extremity of the human body, every crevice. I don’t mean to say that I have become a vegetarian, or that I won’t enjoy the taste of a good hamburger from now on, but I was suddenly very aware of the fact that we too are made of meat. We are made of meat, but there is so much more to us than meat. There is yearning, aspiration, the deepest love, hatred, rage, a cold bitterness, lust, tender warmth. But we are still made of meat.

I noticed also in that moment a strange fact. If one looks at the skeleton, one still sees very clearly the shape of a human. It is obvious that this towering collection of calcium originated from something of the same mold as yourself. Look at the muscular system. Once again, the source is readily apparent. Just flex your arm and you will see the tendons tensing, imparting movement and force to your frame.
Now look at the nervous system. Look at a diagram of the human nervous system. Or better yet, find a detailed photograph from a dissection. What is this? A tangled web of off-white fibers. A brain. Where did they come from? Who knows? But these strange strands are you. They are more you than any bone, any muscle tissue. The system in the body that least resembles a human being is the system that makes you a person. You are a spiderweb of crackling electric impulses, synapses, chemical cascades. And that is so strange, and it is beautiful.

So, that’s a little bit of what I’ve been up to.

What does this have to do with pheromones? The nervous system is the basis for pheromonal responses. Without this response, there would be no Androtics. Perhaps I can’t tie this directly to pheromones, but I have been wanting to sort through my thoughts for so long and this gave me the opportunity. John, if you want to move it to another section, feel free.

Now, on to me and pheromones. I haven’t really been testing. I don’t have many pheromones left. I had nearly my entire collection in a small box which I carried around in the same bag I carried my laptop in. During finals, I left the bag unattended for probably less than two minutes to use the bathroom. Some enterprising young fellow saw opportunity calling and made off with my bag. I got the bag and laptop back, thanks to tracking software, but my collection was gone. P74-P79 and P90-P95 test packs, MX390-395, several consumer line products. I hope he is enjoying them. I’m very excited to start testing again, though, so I plan to make my next order a fairly extensive once as soon as I save up enough. I really want to destroy that horizon this time. I want to go further than I ever have and try combinations and doses I would never have dared attempt before. I came back today to find that one of the most influential members of the forum had passed away. I always loved reading tacitus’ posts. He was brilliant, inventive, unafraid of the sort of experimentation most would only dream of. I would read his posts and think “What if it had turned out awfully? How did he even think of that in the first place?” And now I realize that it didn’t matter how it turned out. He just wanted to know, needed to know what would happen, what each molecule was and what it could do, and to share that with us if he felt like it.

So, that’s the sort of thing I would like to do.

We’re supposed to do a presentation at the end of the class on one of the cranial nerves. We are supposed to extract it, very carefully, in as much detail as possible (keeping as many branches as possible intact) and present it to the class and talk about its function, origin, and so on. I wonder if I could do nerve zero? Seems like a tricky extraction and there are very few resources out there, but it would be interesting, challenging, and particularly relevant here.

I had a pleasant daydream of that person, just spraying and spraying from one bottle to the next, dousing themselves in a puddle of pheromones and having the most interesting (in the Chinese curse way) day. Random occurrences leaving them stunned, gob-smacked, dazed, confused and promising the powers that be that they’ll never “touch what isn’t theirs” again.:smiley:

Hey Vespero, welcome back - so glad to hear from you!!

Can you drop me an email to jslavalle@androtics.com?

I have an email to send you but it’s not for the forum to read. (dun dun dunnnnnn!!!)

I like to believe that tacitus moved onto the ethereal plain, where higher knowledge and pure energy are the driving force of the universe. Passed away from our physical presence, directly to our connection to the Grand Overall Designer. Haven’t you noticed that now he has a direct link to your being?

“And from the void first came a thought!” Yes, our friend is back in the magnificent perfect energy of thought.

I believe this is where your friend progressed to. It’s the only thing that makes sense - energy doesn’t stop, it just changes form. May he find many experiments to play with on the Astral plane.

Welcome back Vespero, will be fantastic to read your reports!
