No way. Way too serious a business to leave it up to the kids. For jump school - back in the days when you had jump boots and not the modern desert boots - you take them to one of the couple dozen dry cleaners/alteration places off-post (usually run by a Korean family). They use a combination of Kiwi and something along the lines of the old Future floor wax on them.

Mark, I think that post sums this thread up quite neatly. We grew up as a generation never really expecting to see middle age. It comes as quite a nice surprise!

I have a friend - I swear all she listens to is 80s music. I think she just barely lives in the “here and now” but spends most of her time back in college in the 80s. I read this thread and I am listening to the 80s stuff on my ipod for the last couple days.

Middle age? Hell I didn’t know if I’d see 21. I was born at the VERY peak of the Cuban Missile Crisis (October 27, 1962), grew up watching news reports of 6 year old kids killing each other in Ireland, seeing 2 of our neighbors kids die in Vietnam, and of course the news reports of successful Nuclear Weapons tests in the Mohave Desert. All before I was 10 years old!
