how about we have a chat room so new people on the forums can ask the experts (when there one of course) questions regarding products. Would be a bad idea now would it>

I think that’s a great idea! A lot of things are explained much bettter in realtime convo than through a forum… We just have to make sure that the forum isn’t neglected in any way.

While that may be a great idea, you’re forgetting the MAIN purpose this forum exists: It is an Androtics research tool.
Granted, it has definitely also become a social gathering spot, and we have a truly awesome group of members, many of whom I feel are like second family to me, but we have to realize that the real reason the forum is even here is so that we can share our phero experiences with Androtics.
For a chatroom to be at all useful to Androtics would require archiving every single chat session, and sorting through all the chit chat looking for something useful. Nearly all of us get off topic in forum postings now. Imagine how bad it could get in a real-time chat environment.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the joking and camaraderie that we have now, and am always one to crack a joke or make an off topic comment, and I believe that’s part of the fun and what makes this forum so active. But, I can easily see how a chatroom could be detrimental to Androtics.
It would be easy to set up an IRC server, and almost every forum has one these days. I could step forward in the next few days and get one going. I would want to wait for official word from Androtics first though.
I still think forming a chat room on meebo would be best.

@Mark: You’ve got a point there and I totally agree that the reports and stuff should stay in the forum. BUT, it could be a great place for youngsters asking the soooo well known questions of ‘what should I get first’ and we could answer a lot of the questions that come up so often on the forum. And of course it could take some of the smalltalk out of the forum.
So yeah, I’m all pro chat room - we just have to make sure somehow that the reports and everything important for Androtics research stays here…
Both IRC and meebo have their advantages - meebo would be especially great because I could access it from my office…

I can tell you it wont be happening through this forum but if you guys want to chat in a room. I say go for it.
But… Your not going to get “experts” to sit and watch a chat room all day. SteveO Jasmin and Micheal have there hands full with the store and forum now. I have my hands full with the forum as well. There are of course other so called experts who I would trust to anwser questions but then if its not monitored at all times by one of them when someone gives some boneheaded advice it cant be taken back or fixed and it can ruin someones pheromone experience.
In the forum all the experts can address important questions and correct misguided advice from someone who is well meaning but hasnt gotten it down yet.

I just also thought about a chatroom and found this thread. I think it would be very nice for the users at general to just exchange in realtime. The journals and other important reports will still remain at the forum. Nobody will share this just for a few ppl who are actually in the chat. At best the chat room would be bounded to the user db of the forum, so it is only possile to login if u are registered here.
