Uhhh huh Well there you go. That would explain why you haven’t heard from me. It’s a big ol’ world and I’ve been out there tryin’ to get me some of it.

Anybody who quotes that vanished hero Tacitus is OK with me. (Reminds me that i should go back and reread the classics.)

It used to be a part ‘who’ I am. An essential part of my self image. Pheros have evloved now to a part of my ‘what’ I am. An integral part of my everyday skillset, the techniques and ideas and experiences that I bring to bear on everyday life.

I wear colognes almost every day. But pheros are now more a special occasion thing. Except A314, of course. And I can now go for days at a time without wearing my A314 and not experience much discomfort. But it is always there in that eyedrop squeeze bottle in my pocket. Usually it is just a touchstone. The feel of it in my hand reminds me, changes me. Reminds me to stand straighter, speak clearer, stride longer. And there is still a confidence, a faith that I can make things work out. To paraphrase ZZTop, ‘Hound dog barks in the middle of the night, put my hand in my pocket and I know it’ll be alright’. It works so much better than that little peice of black steel used to. When a situation arises where I whip it out, there are sooo many more options and the effects on people are almost as profound. Peoples responses change almost immeadiatly. Why would I ever want to be without pheros?

I am not addicted to pheromones. I am just heavily dependent.
