I was at the store today picking up some toiletries and what not, when I ran into something in the hair products section that caught my eye…Pheromone Hair Gel.
Its made by a company called Got2b, which makes a number of different ‘contemporary’ hair styling products. (pomades, hair-waxes, hair-dirt, etc etc). Anyway the product line is called Magnetik for men. The front label very clearly stated that it contained male pheromones. I wasn’t able to find anything on it online, as its pretty new and might actually still be test marketing in my area (seems like it)…but its out there.
I almost bought the bottle out of novelty, but decided against it, so I have no pictures or anything. However, according to the ingredients list on the back of the bottle, it does contain androstadienone. Interesting.
Androtics still gets credit for making the first pheromone hair product though
You’re in Houston, right? I wonder if they’re testing that product in my area..
I wonder what the claims are? They’re going to get some complaints if they REALLY have androstadienone in it… I can’t imagine a lot of women wearing hair gel, so could you men imagine a head full of hardened A1 around to make you feel all crappy and disillusioned all day?? At least you’ll have women stroking your really hard hair.
Thats exactly what I was thinking. Not exactly the ideal choice of pheromone for a commercial product like this…one thats being marketed to ill-informed consumers (probably from ill-informed manufacturers).
But at 5.99 a bottle, I have serious doubts that there’s a meaningful amount of androstadienone in there. I took a whiff of the product but couldn’t smell any Androstadienone…the hair gel fragrance was pretty strong. Seems to me that the pheromones were included as a marketing gimmick…a slightly more technical spin on the position Axe and Tag took with their crappy smelling body sprays.
–just a thought.
if this marketing approach or something similar (pheromone enhanced products) ever works, expect to see more companies touting the inclusion of pheromones simply to push products. Axe created a pretty powerful brand image simply by making empty claims that women will hound you if you wear their products. They also had some pretty extensive market penetrating promotions…I remember them throwing events on my campus a couple of years back. If a company were to market a similar product, but backs their claims by including pheromones, the trend could really take off. The phero-content in these mass-marketed products products would likely be insignificant, but if the novelty of products simply containing pheromones can push sales, believe me someone will capitalize on it, and others will follow
I have Beaches in hair-gel form, and if I wear my hair in a chignon I use it to slick everything into place.
I really rate Beaches anyway, although as far as the roll-on pheromone version goes, I get minor results only, but the gel version definitely renders better results, and it smells just divine..
Oh, and sorry to burst the bubble, as I really do love Androtics’ Hair Magnet, but Beaches Hair-gel has been around for a few years, and I know Michael is sware of that.
this is kinda on the same topic i saw pheromone shampoo made by realm. has anyone used this if so anyeffects what so ever?? i could not find a list of ingredients to see what pheros it had in it if any.
I think anything that washes off or hardens up would effect the mones (behave snort)
I use EOW in lotion though and it works good. Have some mone candles they dont work.
I must say I am seeing mones mentioned more and more on TV and even in a few of the racy books I like to read. Still its not as popular as axe spray or something like that which is fine by me. If everyone was wearing them it would kinda take the fun out of it.
Realm products contains relatively small amounts of Estratetraenol.
I haven’t used the shampoo, but Realm was actually my gateway pheromone product. Stuff worked like a charm for me, although I had a very old batch. Rumor has it the newer batches use a new formulation.
well i just thought id give you a tiny bit of info i found it’s also the only available info on this product there are also no reviews to be found anywhere so far

Well, we will never know if it works or not until we tried it. I did apply pheromone (Perception) gel on my hair before but I didn’t notice anything unusual with people around me. Who knows we might see some good results from this product?
Looking at whats in it I cant see it being very diffusive at all. You need to get the mones to leave your body and enter other peoples scent range. Maybe if a girl was really close to your hair she could react.
So who is willing to take one for the team and try it.
Well, that’s not so hard to do. Apply the gel on hair and get a girl to a scary movie which has Draculas and Vampires. Wait until the vampire sprang out from the coffin and when the girl closes her eyes and hug you, then you can observe for any results from the pheromones.
Perception sucks. I didn’t notice anything unusual no matter where I put that stuff on me
I don’t style my hair with gel these days, so Magnetik would be a waste of money for me. If they made hair putty, pomade, or wax with pheros, I’d try it out for kicks.
I bought the Magnetik 2 days ago and it is actually the reason why I found this wonderful forum. I used it once before the gym yesterday just in the hair and used it before a church service today. I even applied some to my neck and back of hands today to see ANY results. Guys at the gym seemed to be avoiding me. No interest or looks from women. Sat in close quarters with 3 young attractive females at church today for 1 hour. No looks or acknowledgement. Did have an over-talkative 25 or so blonde female check me out at Academy this afternoon though. Not sure if any of these are “hits” or just me imagining things. I am a complete noob, but have done a lot of studying on here. Looking forward to trying some real pheromone products from Androtics. BTW, they do have it in a pomeade.
Forgot to mention the effects on me. It did give me somewhat of a feeling of confidence and “better than you” type of feeling. Again, placebo or not…not quite sure. Still new at this.
Guys avoiding you is actually a potential characteristic of androstedienone (the pheromone used in Magnetik). Androstedienone is actually known to have a negative effect on men, and male users have reported slight depression while wearing it.
At 5.99 a bottle, I have serious doubts there’s enough pheromone in there to produce any type of effect. Also, pheromones need a diffusive carrier (such as alcohol) to carry the pheromones out to a detectable range. It doesn’t seem to me that hair gel would be very diffusive.
Hi everyone. I just bought this stuff today for fun at Walgreens. BTW, I live in San Antonio. Anyway, I googled it to see any hype about it, and found this thread on here. Anyway, I decided to make an account and post this! So, school starts for me in a week, and I will definitely be testing it out there. I will be sure to ask my female friends if they notice any thing when they smell my hair…lol. But, I personally don’t think it will work, based on my basic knowledge of pheromones. It’s common sense that an effective pheromone isn’t going to be in $6 hair gel, but I said, “Ah, what the hell.” and bought it anyway. Long post short, I will see how this works and make sure and inform.
Josh.
PS - The site gives hardly any “Product Details”, besides telling you you’re gonna get the ladies.
Well then MoreJosh, i will look forward to your report of using that stuff & do post your report on the Men’s Forum as you will receive more replies compared to the lounge Hmm, USD 6 for that stuff seem pretty cheap to me but i doubt the pheromone content on it seriously Anyway wish you the best of luck in trying it
I have Realm Body Wash, Shampoo, lotion, aftershave balm, deodorant, candles. (also have bags, and other things that came in the Realm gift sets, as it was typically the same price for the gift box as it was for the bottle)
The Bodywash, and shampoo say “enhances” pheromone function, but do not list pheromones in them. In fact the only ones that list pheromones, are the deodorant and aftershave.
As for Hair Gel with pheromones, wasn’t that in “Something about Mary”? That was some pheromone charged hair gel!!!
