Well, I wore IShine and IOpen (about 3-4 “To Go” sized sprays each) at the family gathering Monday. I can’t say things were much different than usual. Overall things were upbeat, and there was decent conversation, but I can’t say that it was any more than previous year’s gatherings (without pheromone presence). I felt pretty much tha same as I usually did.
There was about a two hour gap between application and my arrival, but I did sneak in that fourth spray of each after I was there about an hour as a booster.
Admittedly it may be hard to judge a change (if any) in reactions with people I only see about once a year, and a recent major illness in the family may have been distracting all of us (and the fact we were as upbeat as previous years may actually have been a positive effect).
Heh…not to be contentious, but from a medical standpoint that isn’t necessarily so. During training and continuing education, it’s driven into our brains (as EMTs/Paramedics) that children are NOT “little adults”. Of course they’re human, but their physiology differs markedly from an adult. It’s actually quite amazing when you get to talk to pediatric specialists! Kids are amazing in what they can recover from physically. However, we are talking about PHEROMONES here in this forum, and from the anecdotal evidence that’s been presented, it appears that sometimes children can respond to pheromones in a manner similar to adults (i.e., sexual arousal). That is really weird! I see a fair amount of child abuse in my line of work and it is depressing to think about. Also, Alaska has the highest rates of domestic violence and child abuse in the nation. Double-sadface.
Anyway, glad to hear that the family gathering went well. I hope to buy some of the Instant Shine for myself when my $15 newbie coupon comes through.
Wow! Certainly off-topic, so I apologize in advance, but compelling. I thought Texas had the unenviable position of leading US domestic violence and child abuse. Perhaps Texas just has the highest murder and child mortality rates.
Ummm… can you suggest a source on Alaska domestic violence and child abuse stats? I believe you, but when I use the fact (and I expect to do so) I want to be able to reload from the source. (No one draws on the Lone Ranger twice! )
Sure! In addition to being a firefighter/medic I’m also on the board of directors for our local domestic violence shelter. For example, Alaska has the highest rate per capita of women killed by domestic partners out of anywhere else in the nation. I’ll talk to our executive director and see if I can get specific names of the reports and studies that are being cited – because there are a LOT of studies that have been done.
In the example below, it shows how Alaskans are “pretty sure we’ve got high DV/SA rates” but that Alaska ranks first or in the top five.
Here is a great source of information from ANDVSA, the Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. Results from the Alaska ANDVSA Public Opinion Research Survey conducted by Hellenthal & Associates, 2006. The survey participants consist of 605 randomly called people distributed across the state. Margin of error is ± 4%. There is also a good site here DVSA-DRC: Alaska that details some of the mandatory reporting and statistic gathering that is taking place in Alaska.
How Informed Are Alaskans About Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Issues?
• 49.3% think Alaska is ranked among the top states for sexual assault rates. In fact, Alaska has the highest rates of sexual assault (“Table 5: Crime in the United State by State.” FBI Uniform Crime Report, 2005).
• 83.1% think Alaska is ranked at or near the top for rates of domestic violence. Alaska continuously ranks in the top five states. Alaska had the highest rate of female homicides in 2004 (Violence Policy Center, 2006).
How Does Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Affect Alaskans?
• 74.7% have experienced or know someone who has experienced domestic violence or sexual assault.
• 93% said they would intervene if they knew someone experiencing domestic or sexual violence, and 61.6% believe other members of the community would intervene.
Sadly, child abuse and neglect are also huge problems in AK.
I am spending the holidays with my family who live in a different part of Canada (Winnipeg) than myself (Montreal), and since I dont see my extended family for years (sometimes even decades!) I use Instant Gentleman as the base for my mixes when I am visiting. People have commented on how much more mature I look, and I get along better with people who are much older than me (Im 28). I use Instant honesty with closer friends so we can deepen our bonds, and Instant female magic because most of my favorite cousins and friends are women (but I dont have any women friends in Montreal, hmmm…). We seem to get along so much better. But Instant Gentleman is my fave with family.
Wow. Is this your first time using pheromones? I’ve never tried them yet, so I’m curious. Have you tried wearing the IS and IO in other situations? The major illness sounds tough to deal with…I’m sorry to hear about that.
I used A314 (one drop) and Instant Shine 2x (one spray) at top of chest / below my neck as my base for visiting my wife and two sons over the Christmas holiday.
I sprayed SPACELAND on my ankles, 1 spray each – and sat with my feet on an ottoman out in the middle of the room.
The 40 hours we spent together went well. There were no dramatic behavioral changes to notice, except these:
my younger son (age 12) buried his head in my chest at one point, and just relaxed completely for about an hour
we escaped our history and enjoyed a calm and warm, good natured interaction (myself and wife) without rancor or tension.
I suspect that family members will be significantly more resistant to pheromonal messages than the stranger who meets us for the first time. Family have a very strong expectation of identity – in fact, we sometimes need to ask our families to let us change some aspect of ourselves, to release some aspect of our identity to alteration.
And family gatherings have a strong set - patterns of interaction triggered by the location of the event, the tastes and odors of traditional foods, etc. etc. etc. I suspect those socialized patterns don’t change easily without willed cooperative intent to make and keep the changes.
We have fewer degrees of behavioral freedom with family and old friends than we do with strangers – unless the family and friends make a conscious effort to extend that freedom to us.
Been experimenting with pheromones for almost 2 years. Sometimes I see a response, sometimes I don’t. I think there are two or three main reasons why I saw little reaction at this gathering:
they’re family. Many maany years of association. I’ve seen it mentioned that pheromones often work better early on in a freindship/relationship etc. Once people “get used” to you, the effects are less, unless you really try to OD, which I didn’t because of reason #2..
my father (91) is still recovering from a prescription med induced (accident) heart attack. Yes he “died.” Paramedics were at his side when heart stopped so they were able to bring him back, but after-effects are lingering. Now in assisted living. I certainly didn’t want to be the cause of any further reactions…
a couple of other family members had really really bad colds. Noses pretty much totally stuffed. Probably did as much “mouth breathing” as nasal breathing, limiting exposure to pheromones.
I also suffer from a lack of social interaction. I can go all day and not meet anyone at times (even when walking the 2 miles to the local downtown Post Office in a city of 70,000). I don’t have a heck of a lot of “experiences” from which to judge.
I did a test run on a314 a few months back (using it exclusively and in some combinations) and have been checking out the IShine, IOpenness, and the combination of those two recently, in fact I ran out of IShine… just ordered the double strength version so I can continue the testing. I had been (and still do) playing with some non-Androtics products mosly last year.
The Shine/Open combo seems to have done well sparking conversations at some of the lunches with friends I’ve done this year.
Note that I’m also a “minimalist.” I like to stay with realtively small doses of products. Also because I’m financially strapped so I have to stretch the dollars. Due to my own medical problems I was “unemployed” for almost 10 years and have just recently found a paying part-time job. You can get real creative and very frugal when you have an empty wallet.
