Be wise and protect your precious hearing, my sweet !

We have an epidemic of hearing loss in the USA (EU regulations more strict for maximum volumes)… I personally know or have spoken with a shocking number of people here in the US, some in their early 20s, with obvious symptoms of ear damage…

I would take this warning seriously:

"The surge in the use of iPods and other MP3 players, supported by persuasive advertising slogans including live life loud, is fueling the nations hearing-loss epidemic, according to Dr. Ronald Webster, Executive Director of the Hollins Communications Research Institute (HCRI).

The Better Hearing Institute (BHI) cites that more than 30 million Americans have some form of hearing loss, with more than one-third or 10 million attributed to excessive sound exposure. Audiologists across the country are seeing a swell in hearing loss cases and are treating increasing numbers of young adults and teens for noise-induced hearing damage.

A recent study commissioned by the American Speech-Language-Hearing-Association (ASHA) revealed that more than half of high school students surveyed who used personal music players reported at least one symptom of irreversible hearing loss. "

i get that same thing 2, especially with shine on. it just makes me feel like the king and i just turn on my radio to max

i noticed that with P93. I was listening to house music and the bass was so much…bassier. loved it.

LOVE that fun super confident affect from Shine.

SHINE ON!

All the best,

April

Yeah, but headphones are the big one to be careful with. I think it’s mostly the ipod killing people’s hearing today. Loud speakers, far away, shouldn’t be nearly as bad.

A hip hop guy also told me that hiphoppers don’t get as much hearing loss, even though they play their music louder, because the music is bass heavy and it’s the high frequencies that hurt hearing.
