Photo: The Alpha Man (worth AT LEAST 1000 words)

I came across this post and thought it would be helpful to everyone here. Ever wonder why the top product here is called A or ALPHA 314. What does ALPHA REALLY MEAN? That question is asked OVER AND OVER again here in some form or another…

While 1000’s of posts have been written about here, I think this picture (and written description) PERFECTLY depicts it:

Alpha Male Vs Beta Male Citizen Renegade

And comment from that site:

This is one of the most important things I have ever read in my entire life. Freaking genius. God damn it.
For this shit, I also blame the feminists. They tricked generations of men — and themselves — into believing that women want the caring, sensitive, Alan Alda type of men.
Bullshit. I was already a bit of a mama’s boy growing up, and as a teenager I got brainwashed into that mindset — I know I have cuddled up to girlfriends like that in the past — and the truth is that this kind of behavior doesn’t do anybody any good.
The girl might not know it either — she is also brainwashed — but she feels it:
“Why is the guy hanging on me?”, is what her primitive, feminine brain is telling her.
“He must be weak. That is dangerous for me, because I am weak too. I need a strong man to survive. Time to pretend I don’t like his PDA, or that I don’t like how he holds his fork. Better break up with him asap. Next!”
A woman wants — needs — a strong man in her life. When she can safely submit her feminine energy to a strong, powerful, dominant man, she feels whole, she feels alive, she feels like a woman — ready to cook, ready to suck dick, and ready to please her man with her wet pussy.
And then, everyone is happy.
I struggled under this incorrect mindset for many years. Only recently, thanks to this site and a few others, am I truly learning what it means to be a man in the world — and not be a beta wimp like the first dude in the picture.
Thank you Roissy for enlightening me — and all of us who have been done a disservice by this new bullshit world we live in.
This is one of your best posts ever. The photo is brilliant. The analysis is dead on.

That depicts the differences in body language quite well. The thing to remember (and most men forget because they are so women focused…or obsessed) is that being alpha is, or at least should be consistent regardless of the gender of who you interact with.

This is the issue I have with many books or video’s that address the concept of the alpha male. There’s a book called the alpha male challenge which is a fairly good workout program that in a positive twist also includes “alpha” character development exercises for each of the ten weeks of the program. Now while I like the challenges and consider them great for personal development…even from a masculine perspective they’re not necessarily “alpha”. Books and programs like John Alexanders “How to be the Alpha Male” and Carlos Xuma’s “Alpha Man” programs are great but they focus TOO much on being alpha with women. That’s all well and good but being alpha should not be limited to when you deal with somebody who is most likely physically smaller and weaker than you.

I have met guys that can be quite alpha with women and especially when alone with their women. Then turn beta, or even omega when they are at work or with a mostly male social circle. I usually warn women against this type of male as his dominance with her is likely a compensation for a lack of control in his regular life…most men that beat their wives tend to be men that lack status or control in their lives outside the relationship.

This is why the “leader of men” attraction switch is important. I’m 6’2" and about 225. While not as solid or cut as I was in my kickboxing days I’m still a large enough and strong enough man that I could easily impose my will on all but the most abnormally large and strong women. Dominating a woman is for the most part, easy since that’s what she’s looking for. But being dominant in a mixed or even mostly masculine group where other males are instinctively driven to achieve the same position and thus likely to compete with you for it requires far more congruence and consistency.

Expand your circle of male friends, and take initiative in being the defacto leader of the group. Don’t be bossy however. The thing about true leadership to remember is that it is a position to benefit those being led…all the perks of the position are just that..perks. People will bestow the position upon you when they believe that you leading is in their best interest. If I’m going to follow you, you’d better damn well know where you’re going and how to get there. So have goals both short term and long term that benefit others that you would lead. Even if it’s simply a matter of being the guy that always knows the coolest places to go for fun. “Hey the club is starting to die down a bit, I’m gonna head out to a party I know about across town, let’s go”.

Really good point about acting alpha in all situations as part of your everyday life… not just when picking up women. I was just thinking of that before reading your post.

though it is a little different with than say the workplace. if your game isn’t working out with a woman than it’s a lot easier to walk away and start again compared to a job!

Not an act, but a mindset

You’re right…A mindset meaning habit..meaning something you do everyday…some so ingrained that it becomes who you are…it becomes your character..

I like the word embody. def- to give a concrete form to; express, personify, or exemplify in concrete form:

The wicked leader is he who the people despise. The good leader is he who the people revere. The great leader is he who the people say, ‘We did it ourselves.’
Lao Tzu

A real alpha man is the great leader -

I found a great translation of the Tao by John Heider called The Tao of Leadership. This is the version of the Tao I am reading daily for now.

With all due respect, I disagree. The “wicked leader” is in most cases not a leader at all but a dictator who claims his position through force or the threat of force.

The “great leader” also is no leader as since by definition, to lead implies that somebody is following and I can’t follow a leader and the discount his leadership. This type of influence might be endorsed by Machiavelli…using subterfuge and direction to get people to what you want and believe it was their own idea.

He’s certainly no alpha since being alpha is a position of recognition. This philosophy would have us believe that the recognition and subsequent perks that come with it are to be eschewed and avoided.

It’s not at all surprising that this quote comes from eastern philosophy, the teachings of the east are rife with group think mentalities that discount and frown upon individual greatness…“the tallest poppy is the one to be cut” and the like. Not at all surprising that Marxism took root so easily in Asia, the mentality and philosophies of the east already placed the greatest emphasis on the collective over the individual.

If being an alps male means being a great leader, and being a great leader means not being recognized and thus not enjoying the perks of the position, then “pass”. I’ll content myself to the implied mediocrity of being a good leader that makes money and gets laid.

BTW…I doubt anyone in India if asked about their independence from the British Empire, would discount the leadership of Ghandi…he was and is revered. Would you say he was less than a great leader?

Another Radman Gem

I think you’ve misinterpreted the quote
The wicked leader is wicked because he leads by force and fear - and thus the people despise him.

The good leader is revered, but reverence isn’t an entirely positive thing. Reverence is a form of blind faith. The people of the good leader fail without his constant attention because he does only inspires them to follow him, not follow his lead.

The quote does not say that the people discount the leadership of the great leader, but that his leadership inspires the people to greatness themselves.

Gandhi was a great man with great ideas and actually I would say the people whom he lead most effectively: Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela were people that say Gandhi inspired them - Or that THEY DID IT THEMSELVES, with Gandhi being their inspiration.

Great Leaders inspire the people to do it themselves - Gandhi was a great leader because he inspired people to do it themselves… not because a bunch of people did whatever he told them to do with reverence.

Wicked leader = Lead with Force and Fear
Simply Good Leader = Lead with instruction, people rely on him
Great Leader = Lead by example, inspire people to achieve beyond his leadership

You mean more like a Vizier/Advisor as opposed to a King/CEO?

Cool, clever, capable, collected and calculating, you may not notice him in the beginning, but he is the one that eventually wins in every situation, yes that is Machiavellian. He is his own man, with his own goals that may have nothing to do with pleasing his parents or annoying them, nor with impressing his peers. He is all about self honesty, self-control and delayed gratification, the kind of guy you will admire more and more as you get to know him better.

That is actually my type, though I know the king man will have more women fawning over him, because he is more in your face. I think reserved, restrained men are sexy.

Sexual energy in the King is thrown around, in the Pawn, it is suppressed. It the Vizier, it is contained. What is contained is saved up be unleashed powerfully when the time is right. Mmmm!

Jesus jumped up Christ, I just read a simple post and now I feel like I need a cigarette.
