It’s always possible to make a nickname out of someone’s handle, especially if you’ve “known” them for a while, and can be sure you aren’t disrespecting them. That makes the conversations flow more naturally sometimes.

i was thinking excactly the same when making this profile, i usually use a diferent online name (and have used that nick since i was 14) but i was sitting reading swinggcats (i think it was..) book while subscribing and was reading about emotional rollercoasters, and well.. here i am, the rollercoaster ^^
I really dont mind Letting everyone Know my first name .. I would rather everyone call me by Jake than some nickname it does help the conversation’s flow a little better aswell I belive
While a real(-ish) name is easier to relate to, you can be anyone on the internet. Every contact could be anywhere on the spectrum from 10 year old girl to 90 year old man so it is still a crap shoot who you are truly dealing with no matter the name.
Also you have to consider that many do not want all their activities online tied to their main identity. I could care less about people who know me finding out more about me. But, I’m currently looking for a new job and don’t want some uninformed HR flunky associating my curiosity about pheromones to my real identity. I doubt I’d get the job and that is just one of many legitimate reasons to not use a real name.

Data4 is one of my long-standing online handles from back when I first got online, but I don’t mind people knowing my first name is Jon. You can even call me that if you like, as all of my good online friends do it. Besides, “Jon” is such a generic name, it’s not like my address and phone number can be hacked from it.

I’ve had way too many stalkers to use my real name (or even the main online name I use), sorry if that makes anyone uncomfortable. I can certainly understand why someone would relate better to a name they’re familiar with, but I’d rather feel secure. Some of what I’m known for is less than “vanilla” and I would rather be anonymous than announce my naughtiness.
A few years ago I had a picture taken with a musician and later found that another girl had been posting it and saying it was her. 
I’ve also had people find out my personal information and show up at my house. And it’s entirely too easy for people to locate the information posted on boards such as this. I dont particularly want anyone who googles me to know part of their attraction could be pheromones.

I’m PhatSounds. Well this nickname just come across my mind while i was listening to a song then i was thinking at that time man that song is so phat & the sound is just right hence come out the nickname PhatSounds Btw Phat mean fantastic or very good or something like that.
