raw peeled potatoes
Upon a few days worth of analysis, the first best match for one of the elements of my smell “down there” is honey. There are also some other elements I have not pinpointed a tangible comparison yet (I have put some ideas in parenthesis) but generally speaking they are: musky, a bit woody (like frankinscense or myrrh), sweet and floral (like ylang-ylang), slightly acidic (like yogurt) and a hint of spicy (?).
I’m going to keep working on it, and get my bf to chime in with his thoughts!
This is so fascinating! lol
From all the women have smelled that were natural, and very clean, no added perfumes, soaps, scents etc. It had almost no smell, just a very very faint human scent.
most of my experience has been relatively the same. Nothing really on the extreme as far as odors…mostly on the milder side of any scent. some of the scents have been more musty (not the bad bo) while some have been more fresh (not quite fishy but almost like the ocean if that makes sense). To me I’ve never really thought of the smell as sweet…the taste however is different. It’s been one of those where the taste doesn’t always match up with the smell. So there’s my answer…pleasantly musty (natural good human smell) and fresh (like the ocean breeze).
Umm… does anyone else find they generally smell unpleasant or is it just me?
Depends. Most gay men would agree with you, if you are straight, it’s just you.![]()
Whatever happened to this project? There have been no updates for quite a while. So I am guessing that this is a fallout of the economy as well and lack of resources.
Actually I am a little hesitant to ask for an update, as I know from past answers on this forum that the update/response will have very few “real” answers, just a lot of philosophical ideas, which make for good reading, but only seem to act as a diversionary measure. Philosophical answers are good (make those a sticky) to explain the charter /mission of your company and are expected when you are starting out, but not as an answer to an update question.
What I find especially troubling is Androtics’ worship of Apple, which although a very innovative company is really closed-minded and has become an all around market dictator and sometimes even acts as a big bully when it actually started as an underdog. Trust me you don’t want to go that way.
I remember that when I moved from love-scent (think Microsoft) and joined Pherotalk where I started posting more and more, I was in love with this forum and people who were running it. I am now seeing similar exodus from this forum to other forums and stores that happened to love-scent, where many people now just go to get their favorite products but hardly spend any time in the forums. While I still love this forum and the people who run it, I don’t like the direction it’s taking and I would like to help stop that bad momentum and bring back the openness and transparency it had in its youth.
Suggestions to Androtics:
Pass on the cost of experimones and putatives to buyers. If the putative costs $199, then that’s what it costs. If you want to sell it at a discount for feedback, make it available to very selected users who are obliged in some way to provide a feedback to recuperate the cost (make a contract if you have to).
Keep your customers in the loop. Give regular updates, not only when asked. Send out weekly newsletters if needed.
Don’t provide ETAs that you can’t meet. Don’t make promises that you can’t keep or that takes you months to come back to (like revealing the formulas of certain MXs. Say clearly which ones you can and which ones you can’t).
Not a single MX has become a regular consumer product in the past 5 years that I have been a member. Clearly you don’t have a defined strategy about how this process should work, so just be honest about it. Maybe the results from the tests are used to modify the existing instant line, in which case you need to change what is written in the description for all of the instant lines products, and mention that they are also a work in progress.
I am hoping for some change.
Weird, I am straight haha. it just tends to smell like fish to me.
I agree, a lot of the girls Ive been with who smell real fishy just don’t take care of themselves.
I’ve been with about 18 women in my life and only 2 of them it smelled nice and clean with a pleasant scent that I knew wasn’t covered up…the others either smelled either stank but tried to cover it…or metallic and fishy
I wonder if some guys are having trouble distinguishing the taste from the smell? Taste and smell are very closely linked in humans. The reason I ask is that “salt” does not smell…go ahead into your kitchen and smell it! Salt is a taste, and I think some of the salt, fish answers here have more to do with taste than smell…
Let me know what you think! ![]()
I agree Sassy, like I said, some of the girls Ive smelled that were fishy were just skanks and didn’t take care of themselves as I had a rude awakening “sailing down south.” And didn’t even try to “get out the boat.” So I decided to tack and “charter for other seas.” hehe ![]()
That’s actually a very interesting thought sassy. I guess I’ve never really been down there just to smell. You’re probably right.
I have never been with a woman who smells like cumin. That is most unfortunate and I would think abnormal if it smells outright like cumin.
Some women are naturally intense… producing lots of copulins and amines… perfectly healthy vaginae can smell quite strong… others have a deep musky scent, I know perfumers have tried to make coy allusions, no commercially available product to my nose has ever captured the full depth of vag-musk… sort of a heavy leathery deep golden tan smell…
Most though, 90% IME, are light, perhaps a heather floral with a hint of mushroom…
Very Curious!
I am so glad that you are inquiring about the smell of a vagina. I am a 33 year old woman and I have always wondered what a normal one smells like. I don’t have a scent. Every man I have been with tells me this and I notice it as well. I asked my husband to describe what most women smell like and he can’t. All he can tell me is that all women have the same underlying smell and some smell stronger than others. I can run in a marathon and still not have an odor down there. I don’t even douche. When I have sex with a man, there is not a smell either. I have always wondered what people were talking about when they say a room smells like people have been having sex in it. When I have sex with someone, the room doesn’t smell like anything…and believe me, I orgasm every time.
When I am ovulating my vaginal smell reminds me of plain mashed potatoes. When I am not ovulating, it might smell very faintly of mashed potatoes. I have an extremely strong sense of smell so I feel that this is a very accurate description. There is never a fishy, sweaty or musky odor emitted from my vagina. I am very healthy, I don’t have feminine problems and I never get yeast or bacterial infections.
I am curious to read other womens’ descriptions of their vaginal smell as I am very curious to what what that typical universal scent is. ![]()
You are so right! I always thought that mine smells like potatoes. I never have any other scent. Men tell me that I don’t have a scent at all, but I have a very strong sense of smell and potatoes are the only thing that ever comes to mind. If I don’t shower for two days and I sweat, my vaginal odor does not smell strong at all. I know this is very rare. I never douche and I don’t ever use feminine deodorant sprays. When I bathe, I cleanse it with fragrance free Dove soap. I wonder what most vaginae smell like because I am always told that mine doesn’t have “that smell.” It’s never fishy, musky or sweaty.
The strangest thing is that when I am menstruating, there is no smell at all. I don’t want to disgust anyone, but about three men have given me oral sex while I was on my period. My scent is not based on my diet either which is why I don’t think ones diet plays a role.
Do most of them, even healthy ones, have a slight fishy scent?
I think one of the best smells I experienced was a “clean smell” didn’t really smell like anything. Funny how I really can’t describe the smell of it, I wanna say something like a light meat…yet feminine and a bit sweet. Another girls natural lubricants I remember gave me a bit of a burning sensation but she was very clean and everything, it was kind of like extra stimulation that I’ve only experienced within that one girl
(should I have been worried)
Now the worst case scenario is the one that’s easy to describe. Strong dead rotting fish…I gag everytime I think about it. This was an all around bad experience that lead me to the nearest 24 hour gas station for some mouth wash.
Edit: from other posts I’m drawing the conclusion that “musk” is a word that can be used to describe some girls
I’m just responding to the comment about the fishy smell. I’m not sure if that was a serious comment, but in my experience it invariably arises from intercourse (presumably from the mixture of semen & vaginal fluid, but I don’t know the biochemical reason) - and will be much stronger where there have been multiple sexual partners over a short period of time.
hmm perhaps a “fresh” smell is quite nice, i.e. she has just washed and whatever her (new) secretions smell like are nice (when I say secretions Im talking about whatever smellable molecules are emitted not talking about discharges or anything like that)
If I had to describe my wife’s vagina smell, I would say that it’s warm, earthy, and salty with hints of nutmeg and olives. Quite spicy at times. If “damp” had a smell, it would be in there as well.
