hands down for me is Grave Of The Fireflies. Also the most poignant anti-war movie i’ve ever seen. Forget apocalypse now, forget platoon saving private ryan etc. this movie loves to kick you when you’re down. when you feel that the story couldn’t possibly become more tragic, a subtle sub-plot pops up which makes you realize: “Oh god! this is actually even sadder now! WTF?!?” Def very well directed though. it’s anime, which I normally hate, and even the dubbing is well done by american actors too.
I would have to say that the Bjork movie dancer in the dark is another one that just leaves you in that …wtf? type sad state
Thanks. I’m completely out of touch with Anime now but I’ll give it a go =)
I cry everytime

The SF movie Silent Running always makes me cry at the end.
Pretty sure I cried during Pan’s Labyrinth, and other more embarrassing titles I refuse to divulge.
i just bought pan’s labyrinth on blu-ray. amazing.
ima have to go with Blood in Blood out on this one. especially the part when little juanito dies. everytime i here Little Wing by Jimi Hendrix it always takes me back t that scene because it’s playing in the back.
