It had it’s flaws… I think. Okay, well, I’m a bit fuzzy on the flaws, but I didn’t want to come off sounding like a fanboy. When it was announced that Heath Ledger was cast as the Joker, my initial reaction was “Are you shitting me?” Now, all I can say is that it’s a damn shame Ledger’s dead, because his portrayal of the Joker is the best to ever grace a screen of any size, and we’ll never get to see it again.
I’ve got so many thoughts and feelings about this movie running through my mind that I can’t really articulate them. Plus, I’m afraid I’ll spoil something.
Just consider this:
You like Batman? Go see it.
You like superhero flicks in general? Go see it.
You like action movies? Go see it.
You like crime dramas? Go see it.
You like psychological thrillers? Go see it.
This movie is the total package. It’s each of those genres and all of them. Best 2.5 hours I’ve spent in a theater all year.
I always liked Christian Bale in American Psycho and Equilibrium, so i know it will be good, and i know i won’t be disappointed because Christopher Nolan is the director, i’ll definitely check it out.
pity about Heath Ledger, died so young, never like him much but hey he’s aussie so i’ll give him some credit
it was good, but not the best movie I have seen. (I didn’t get laid afterwards ) It is the best movie of 2008 (thus far and likely all year) but that’s hard to say when all you have to compare to is the dribble they have been putting out. WALL-E is pretty darn good for what it is.
troubles, Heath ledger is dead, Accuracy was not 100%, sorry I like my Superhero movies about comic books to be more true to the comic book.
The bat pod uses the same tires we run on the rear of our USAC Silvercrown Championship dirt car, I swore several times during the movie I read Hoosier written on the side. USAC Silver Crown Series | USAC Racing (see pictures section)
I don’t go to see movies often because most of them are crap. And even when this came out I wasn’t sure it would be so up to par with the hype. Not hype by the film producers, but hype from people talking about it. I admit I was a little curious to see Heath’s performance, but it wasn’t enough curiosity to make me want to go because of it. My friends wanted to go see it at the opening midnight but it sold out, and kept selling out throughout Saturday. I ended up going on Sunday with my sister. At that point I had heard so many “WOWs” from friends and family who had already gone, that I just had to go see it (I was also afraid I might hear a spoiler if I put it off any longer). I was even skeptical in the beginning of the movie, but soon I realized this movie walks the walk.
There were lots of unexpected twists and also depth that I really wasn’t expecting from a Batman movie. The Joker was simply brilliant. Very funny in some parts too. The ending was also different from your typical movie. Everyone should go see it. Even if you haven’t seen the first one or if you’re not a fan of comic movies, go see it, you’ll be blown away.
I really liked it overall. I think Heath deserves an Oscar for his performance.
Saw it twice. Was in the front row the second time, don’t recommend doing that. GREAT movie. I don’t even like Heath Ledger, but this movie is going to make him a legend.
After I saw it midnight opening night, I went online to read about it, and many sites were reporting that Jack Nicholson makes a cameo. I looked for it in the second movie, couldn’t find it.
I heard there’s going to be one more Batman, and it’s over. The way it ended, I’d expect there to be a “Return of the Joker,” but that obviously wouldn’t be appropriate. I’m going to go out on a limb and say Penguin and Riddler???
I happened to watch it last night. It’s approach and release went completely unnoticed. Yea, that’s how little I pay attention to media.
Anyways, it was a really good movie, it backed up all the hype I did hear about it, once I realized it was out.
The conversation between the DA and Joker in the hospital was the best. It was just loaded with emotions. Anger, revenge, hate, and lots and lots of pain. I dunno, maybe that and the fact that it almost felt like that conversation was pulled straight from my mind.
I don’t know how much more I can talk about the movie without spoilers though..sooo. yea. Good movie, go see it.
