01.Aug – LAST of my IS/b (3 sprays, to go, on chest); 1 spray 2x IH to go on nape, 2 sprays 2x IS on forearms.
Meet the SoCal guy for the first time at the nearby coffee shop since I wasn’t feeling well enough to get up three hours earlier to drive and pick him up at the airport. He’s ALL smiles! Walk back to my place, (pick up my AD package*) talk a bit, go out for lunch. Take an easy day – no agenda. It takes a long time for that first hand-holding/arm brush; I’m not certain if he likes me “in that way” after finally meeting me. I’m fine with the slow pace, since it lets me relax, but still I’m wondering. Went out for dinner too, some snugging later.
02-04.Aug – 1 spray 2x IH on nape, 2 sprays 2x IS on forearms.
…[It’s become my “standard base”, at least until I get more IS/b and IH (ran out of that too) so I can finish the sweet spot testing – I think I’ve only “ghosted” if I wear just IH alone. Well not so much “ghosted” as no “hits” beyond those I’d get “naked.”]…
ALSO – 1 spray MX 397 to chest. OMG this is so YUMMY (I don’t know the fragrance, everything else is Neroli). It clashes a bit with the Neroli, and later fades to a more synthetic-type smell.
3 days of touring around town – Powell’s, OMSI, the aerial tram, and all sorts of awesome restaurants and local sights. He’s paying for most of the meals out, but I’m buying the groceries and cooking some at home, and otherwise trying to find deals and using my discounts. I pay for the museum membership (been meaning to get one) that lets me bring a guest, and we spend HOURS – we still miss parts because we stay up too late, AND get a very late start in the mornings, because of “other” activities.
(He seems fine with paying for everything, but doesn’t object to my paying, and I don’t want the entire burden falling on him.)
He also insisted we go to Target and fill my prescription for my temporary ADD meds–he has ADHD as well, and to be honest, I’m not sure I could handle that when we’re both unmedicated, as much of this weekend was.
05-07.Aug – 1 spray 2x IH on nape, 2 sprays 2x IS on forearms, 2 sprays MX 397 to chest.
3 days of road trips –
• Tillamook ice cream & cheese factory isn’t as great as I’d hoped, and after seeing all that obesity we kind of want to order salads instead of ice cream and fudge. At Cannon Beach the beach bike place is closed since it’s so late, but we walk around, take pictures, and fly my stunt kite in more gales of laughter than wind. Up the road to Seaside to find a seafood restaurant; I get stopped by a cop on the way for going 5 over the 20mph – I’d just turned onto the road and not seen the sign. I’ve no record, and he just gives me a warning, and tells me I was supposed to change my driver’s license within 30 days of moving to this state. I didn’t have a car until this last month, and I wanted to get my new glasses first, but I didn’t tell him that. I’ve only gotten one speeding ticket for doing 95 in a 65 in Northern California (he wrote it as 75), so I’m not sure that’s a “hit”. I was hardly nervous–I’m good with projecting a lack of stage fright.
• Thanks to Groupon, a sternwheeler cruise on the Columbia at Cascade Locks was stunning! My date forgot his wallet at home (he JUST realized when we were walking up to present ID), and the captain said he’d let me “vouch for him, but that means she’s your boss for the day; can you handle that?” Again, I don’t think that’s an unusual effect for me, especially in this region where people are just more relaxed. They wouldn’t let us get the $10 café rebate since we lost the coupon, but then we found it and had a delightful meal for $4.50 for two of us. Up the way at Timberline Lodge at Mt. Hood, we were briefly silly in the snow, took lots of pics, and shared Elk Sausage and Bacon Mashed Potatoes–no one went out of their way to accommodate us in the packed restaurants, but then again, I’ve not been reapplying mid-way through the day.
• Seattle: Traffic turned the 3 hour drive to 4, but neither of us got too stressed. Pike Place Market – we had fun, but it kind of overwhelmed both of us. Lovely Pirogy for lunch, and all sorts of samples. A tour through a gourmet grocer. The Butterfly House at the Pacific Science Center (free with the OMSI membership!). We were naughty and put dabs of honey on our noses, but only had 20 minutes. Still butterflies landed on our shoulders. (That’s happened to me before.) Experience Music Project – he’d seen it; I’d forgotten about it. He wanted to see the SciFi part, and the coupon didn’t work – we only had 35 minutes and they made us pay full price, but it was awesome. Space Needle at sunset – so many pictures and delicious views. A cup of great clam chowder and he had a Bacon-onion gourmet dog. I actually had a couple bites, and I’ve not eaten a hot dog since I was 13. He drove home since my hip was screaming, but the California-following distance still made me nervous.
08.Aug – 1 spray 2x IH on nape, 2 sprays 2x IS on forearms, 2 sprays MX 397 to chest.
Last day; stayed in. We made a healthy gourmet snack buffet, and I drove him to the airport.
We basically lived together for 7.5 days upon our first meeting. I did get a little irked occasionally, but that could be low-food or ADD-overwhelmed. Mostly it was fun and silly with some philosophizing – we even discussed religion and politics to some extent.
He also read to me out of his favorite book as I drove or rested. He said he didn’t think he’d had any bad meal while he was here, and not of even the richer foods made him ill–he has no gallbladder.
He went home and “reported” to his daughters. Now they’re more excited to meet me, and he wants me to fly down to visit him next month. Oh, and the second day, on the streetcar, a stranger asked what brought him to visit our fair city. When he pointed to me, the stranger asked if I was his fiancée – we looked at each other and laughed, but he said “that’s not a bad idea.”
No hopes or dreams on my part, I’m not foolish. Just reporting what I heard. And while I thought he was crazy, at least I didn’t think he was insane.
- The AD Order – I can’t express how amazing you guys are! Everything I wanted (that was in stock) and more! Thanks for the free gift! (Just an FYI, the to go bottles still leaked, but I’m not worried about it.)
