This is really sad for both the men and the women involved. Yet I see so many other people doing very well. Men who work hard on their studies and career because the have a dream that motivates them, women who exercise sexual restraint if they need to know love is involved when they are sexual with a man. I think these are just growing pains of a transition to something better.
Personally, (As this is my agegroup being discussed)I’m pretty chaste because I bond over sex. Therefore, I need to know a man is a worthwhile person, compatible with me and committed. Maybe I would be better off in the 60’s, but I get plenty of male attention as it is. I do recognize that not all women are the same, some women can really have sex like a guy and enjoy casual sex for its own sake. I’m happy for those women that they have the pill, they are not forced to marry early because their parents fear them losing their virginity and not called whores and excluded from society, even put into houses for fallen women. I’m also happy people no longer marry eachother out of sheer horniness when they have kown eachother for three weeks. And finally I’m happy that girls are no longer secretly having illegal abortions that kill them. The old system was stifling.
The negative thing of today is that some women who can’t have casual sex, who do bond over sex, feel they need to prove that they can. They idealize the women that are more like men and buy into the myth that all women can be like men if they push themselves into the mold hard enough. These are the girls who engage in acts they do not desire (Because secretly, they want to make the guy fall in love.), then try to coerce a commitment and become depressed when they are dumped because they nag too much or reluctantly marries her. This is probably not too healthy for the men involved either, because they think they are succesful with women, and then a whole lot of drama happens. A girl who does not accept her personality and her needs, who is bending over backwards is going to snap from time to time. But this is something that I think will lessen over time. It’s been like a puberty, where people throw out the values that their parents gave them, but then grow up and find values that fit them. Many people in their twenties also see the downsides of sameness between the sexes. I see many men who are learning to be more masculine and many women learning to be more feminine. Not because they ‘ought to’ but because they see the benefits and want it.
The article is far more gloomy than the reality I see in daily life because it does focus on those data that support its message. Not all premarital sex is the same, I have a lot of friends who are cohabiting, some on a contract, and basically act like my married friends in the same agegroup. I do see the married couples are more romantic, but my friends who cohabit tend to be more practical, a bit feminist and more masculine. (Not in a bad way) Their partners are also more feminine and they just prefer to have less polarity in their relationships. These guys are well educated and have decent jobs. I don’t closely know many loser guys or girls who fall for the wrong men, but my impression is that most losers have a lot of trouble with women, except a small portion who are handsome/smooth/use pheros. Also a portion of normal or winner guys havent found the right girl(yet) or are working out some issues and have casual sex in the meantime. My cousin for example is the perfect guy on paper, and has always been a very sweet, kind guy and very ambitious. His mother was very sickly when he was a teenager and he had to be in an adult role before his age. He had one normal romantic relationship though the girl was a bit too bossy over him, then at 23 after the girl broke up with him he really slept around for a year. Really scandalously slept around, as in date 5 girls a week so he’d be certain to get lucky. At 24 he met a girl who was older, more ladylike (I’m pretty certain not easy) and he went back to his kind self, but without the ‘too sweet’ side. He is a good husband and succesful in his career now. It’s guys like him that are having most of the casual sex; potentially great, but damaged in some way.
The price of sex is low, in other words, in part because its costs to women are lower than they used to be.
What’s the saying…“buy low, sell high”? ![]()

I hate when women sleep around to prove that they are “as good as a man”. To me, it is degrading to women because they are idealizing men and giving in to the idea that men are better. There’s no shame in being a woman! Personally, I don’t see anything better about having sex indiscriminately, it just leads to more diseases and less perceived value. If women want to sleep around for the sake of sleeping around, that is great too, but don’t go against your own nature and have sex with a bunch of guys that aren’t worth your time just to prove a point cuz it won’t really prove anything. It’ll just hand over control of the relationship to men, like the article said, which is a dumb move.
It is okay for a girl to give it up fast, if she doesn’t want a LTR relationship with him.
Also, it tends to be true that guys respect “harder” women - it takes over 90 days, lol. However, if a girl has been “easy” in the past, or had/have that reputation, but she acts pretty “hard” recently or with you, don’t trust her. I would go find someone else quickly!!!
It always makes one suspectful… like wtf is going on?
