Sexuality of Lizards

Why on earth would I ever post something on the sexuality of lizards??

the side blotched lizard
the sexuality of these lizards goes like this. there are three kinds of males. in descending order of aggressiveness and ascending order of intelligence they are orange males, blue males, and yellow males. oranges keep large harems. blues keep small harems. and yellows impersonate females to sneak into the harems for a quickie. the dumb oranges fall for this trick but the blues don’t. so the population cycle goes like this. oranges predominate and have most of the females. yellows impregnate the orange harems. orange population declines and blues predominate and build harems that are protected from yellows. oranges muscle in and take over females from blues. orange predominates. and so on.(curt lively, indiana university, bloomington)

I wonder what terribly insightful thing Michael’s going to say about this snip. I know he’s super big on the evolutionary psychology aspect of all our pheromonal adventures.

I know it probably wouldn’t jive enough with our marketing "mentors’ but I wanna ditch the Colin Farrell/James Bond metaphor and go for blue, yellow, and orange iguanas!! Dare I impregnate the board with these new slang terms for different dudes? (God, it would be like Scientology, introducing to you a cult-esque vocabulary set…)

Anyway, This quote’s from this one site that I came across in the late 90s when I was a wee’bit (if I tell you what grade I was in, I’d give away my age, and that just doesn’t jive..

Lemme tell you, guys. This site blew my brain to smithereens. I’m looking back at it now, and it was honestly the most influential thing I ever read. Is that dorky? It brought up so many seductively weird concepts to my young, malleable perception of the world. I think it’s 'cause I read this site and didn’t dork out to sonic youth (or whatever the norm was for my peers…) that I turned into the weirdo that I am today… I seriously printed it out in its entirety and memorized it. And guarded it from everybody becuase the strange “facts” were so important to me.

Isn’t that silly?

Terribly insightful thing I’ll say, huh?

Well, for one, it reminds me of socialism. They’re always color coding everything… especially with orange.

Ever been to England? It’s colored coded! Germany literally looks like kindnergarten. I actually like this, though, I’m not complaining about color coding.

There. I’ll avoid giving any real insight, beyond “this”. I know I bug you all with all that insight crap.

I think it gives us more insight into Jasmin than humans.

She was destined for greatness.

And wierdness.
