She seems hooked on the night, then flakes: pheromone attraction that doesn't last

Hmm, Sugar, methinks the before mentioned really depends on the culture, age and geographic area. Here in Honolulu–mostly mixed Asian community–women chase all the time. However they tend to be more subtle and sneakier about it than men. That is, they’re in full control of the hunt but tend to make the guy think he’s doing the chasing when in fact he merely walked into her well laid trap.

With that said, plenty of women–attractive, smart women–will openly chase, not bothering to be sneaky about it. Perhaps it’s a generation thing, but plenty of 20-somethings have pursued me and didn’t hesitate one iota in making first contact after our initial meeting. The shyer will email or IM, but the bolder call my cell. I recall one hot Vietnamese girl called several times but hung up before speaking. Finally she got up the nerve to speak. Sheesh I felt sorry for her as I recall going through the same shit years back. Once she knew I wasn’t going to reject her she was bold as a lioness. And these women were not “baby hungry,” desperate, dumb or unattractive. On the contrary they were everything most guys would want. Perhaps weaker men might be threatened by their boldness and confidence. I do know one thing, breaking up with women like these can be life threatening. Her wrath is just as intense as her pursuit.

But, yeah, Sugar you’re right about guys flaking. I suspect we do it more than women. I love to tease and flirt but it’s usually only for that moment. Most of us will say anything and follow through long enough for a little honey on stinger in the parking lot, but think twice about anything more. I try to be less of an ass than I used to be, but it pretty much comes with the territory of “maleness.”

Incidentally, the increased boldness of women is something fairly new to me. I guess I’ll have to blame 5 years of using NPA and The Edge. Prior to that things weren’t nearly so urgent.
