Anybody here who hasn’t brought civilization 5 yet and is planning to.

I’ve played the entire series from civ1 on my old 486, even the “nooblined” civ revolutions. They were some of the best stratergy games i’ve ever played. My friend came over and told me he was picking up a copy of civ5, what the fuck nobody told me there was a civ5!!! shit i was so excited to hear that it had been released i decied to buy it straight away without thinking twice since after all it is CIVILISATION!.
***First of all let me point out all the positives in this new game. *

I love the new combat system it’s far better then the previous games, Thank you sid meier no more random battles of a single enemy unit taking out an entire army and it’s much more of a faster process which is good for those long games! and no more 100+ stack battles but then again this improvement comes a SERIOUS flaw, You can only protect your city with one unit.
The switch to a hex board is pleasing addition to the series and the graphics are very nice! oo laa laa
50/50 with the new city states, i mainly use them as a buffer between enimies other then that they are pretty useless unless you want to keep shoveling them bribes to keep them happy, Even then the benefits are not worth the gold.

Let me start with the bugs! the countless bugs! WTF were you thinking fireaxis you released a game that isn’t even finished yet!! Where do i start
The multiplayer is horrible! worse map graphics then sp?! no unit animations, terrible network code. Just plain and simple nasty. My hat goes off to anybody who can use multiplayer, But then again that’s why multiplayer is currently dead.
Nobody can play maps bigger then “small” otherwise it’ll just crash halfway through the game, EVERY SINGLE F#*KEN TIME and don’t even try to say it’s my computer. This happens to EVERYBODY!
The AI is horrible with it’s tactics etc.. but i can overlook this due to the AI having to be rewritten since it uses a hex board now. But diplomacy is a laughable joke one minute ceasar wants to attack me so i hit take out one of his units trespassing on my turf and he surrenders and gives me all his towns?? WTF LOL! Plus leaders just get angry with you for no reason and there is noway to findout why.
All the good parts of the previous civilization games are either watered down or totally taken out and the “shit” parts of a game have been “focused” on. Sid meier why would you ADD MORE FOCUS ON FUC*$N BUILDING ROADS WE ALREADY KNOW IT WAS A FLAWED CONCEPT TO BEGIN WITH BUT NOW YOU WANT TO PUT MORE FOCUS ON THIS ASPECT OF THE GAME BY FORCING US TO “PERSONALLY” BUILD EACH TILE OF ROAD!!! I AM NEVER THE ONE TO SAY THIS, BUT YOU FAILED HARD! THATS LIKE FOCUSING ON THE REAL SHIT PARTS OF A PORNO MOVIE AND THEN MAKING A COMPLATION OUT OF IT! WHO THE F^CK WANTS THAT!
Gold gold gold gold, Press “gold” to win. Theres only one thing that matters and that is gold, Posses more of this and YOU WILL WIN. What ever happened to culture being an important aspect of the game, another watered down feature or even religion, one of the many awesome concepts totally blown to shit in the dark.
The character traits are now joke and they haven’t even been thought out very well, Most of them will be totally useless by the mid-end game. A trait for barbarians WTF they all die out after the classical era!
Oh i forgot to mention, It’s boring as hell! I can’t even make it to the modern age in a single seating. With every other civ game i have been able to sit there easily for 13+ hours, with civ5 i can barely stand 4 hours.
I have tried to force myself to enjoy this latest installment but with only 14 hours clocked up i can’t bear to play another game.
After this and civ revolutions i have decided to no longer partake buying any of the future civilization series or even any fireaxis games for that matter, Even though i hate to say it i really wish i just downloaded this game from some random torrent site. Empires (Rated 2.5) is a shitload better then civ5 and i’ve had enough of the cashcow shit Fireaxis is throwing out these days.* Even if civ 6 is a great game ill just download it, no way will i risk wasting my money to find out it’s another civ 5,rev. I had an epithany that this is how people turn to pirating, Wasting money just to find out it’s another shit game is real crowd pleasing way to keep your legal customers.
You may be laughing thinking oh it’s only one customer but at the end of the day i can tell you now civ5 will make fans of the civilization series run for the hills and go play with other game developers. If you’ve never played the game before you’ll love it minus the bugs! But if you enjoyed any of the other games in the series you will seriously feel ripped off
