TAF at work today

I’ve read about TAF, and it sounded quite interesting to me as I could always use something to give me a little extra focus at my busy job, so today I tested it out. I had a pile of paperwork to catch up on…boring! :stuck_out_tongue:

Product name, scent and strength: TAF 10 mcg/spray unscented

Application dosage and locations: 2 sprays; one to neck, one to chest

Enviroment tested in: at work, in my office. It was snowing and cold out today, so they had the heat turned up a little and it was rather warm in there, warmer than usual. I don’t know an exact temp, but we usually keep it around 75º (cold blooded elderly, you know LOL), and it definitely felt warmer than that.

Self effects: about 5-10 minutes after application, I got really shaky. My hands started shaking so much I could barely type! This wore off about half an hour later. But I felt nervous and jumpy. It was weird, like I had a bunch of caffiene. I felt buzzed! I didn’t notice the focus so much like I had read about (which is what I was hoping for!) but I did feel like I was just rushing through everything. Not really paying attention, either, just hurrying to get done.

Effects to others: didn’t notice anything, but I was pretty much alone in my office today, plus I don’t think I would have noticed anyway LOL.

Duration of effects: the “buzzed” feeling lasted about 4 hours, then started to fade. It was gone after 5 hours for sure, then I had a slight headache.

Effects from mixing with other products: didn’t mix with anything

The headache could have been from how hot my office was today, as I do tend to get that way when overheated. I don’t drink anything with caffeine, so that had to be from the TAF LOL. I also noticed I got a little weepy (?) this afternoon over little things like having to go back and retype something that I rushed through the first time, it just frustrated me and I got kind of teary, which isn’t usually like me. Don’t know if that could be attributed to the TAF, or just stress in general, though; but thought I’d mention it, since it is kind of unusual for me.

Think I’ll wait to try this again on a day when I have a lot of housework or something that doesn’t require so much concentration.

TAF really is a heavy duty molecule. I know you see a lot of people use quite a bit which surprises me as well but try just one spray and see how you do. Optimum dosage is low with this one 2.5 to 10 mcg’s… some go as high as 20 mcg but that would be way to much for me. Its OK though I think we all do this in the beginning then scale back some as we realize we don’t need that much.

TAF is somewhat of a steering mone so its best used with something although you did the right thing by testing it on its own first. I think once you start using it with other products you will see its effects more. To much visual stimuli can cause jumpiness or jitters. I noticed you mentioned you could hardly type. I assume on a computer. This is a lot of visual stimuli. Try it in a different environment and see how you feel as well.

I think going lower in dosage will help you adjust to it and see its effects more as well.

Remember before you choose a mcg on a product ask because just like with the main stream mones more is not better with some things. I usually get 5.0 mcg of less with TAF. You can try using half sprays or dilute it but dont do that till you tested it out some more.

Great report
Tisha

I agree with Tisha…TAF is very effective at low doses… I use between 20-30mcg, but I have ADD so my brain doesn’t react to stimulants the way most people’s brains do, I can take higher doses without getting a buzz…

Today I tried 10mcg TAF with my normal work combo and it was great, it complemented my normal med’s really well

A few people get fight-or-flight response with TAF. Sounds like you are one of them. You could try diluting the product and using a smaller dosage, but my experience with one of my sons (who reacts as you do) is that any TAF is too much TAF. However, you may build a tolerance to it in which case the reaction might mute down somewhat. I’d recommend going for 2.5 mcg or even 1.25 mcg and see how you do.

I’ve worn 60.0 mcg and more with no adverse effects, but like xiphoid I am also ADD. So for me TAF is calming and centering (except when worn with P90).

Diane

Thanks for posting in this format. Great report!

I get a bit of a buzz at lower dosages, too. It definitely wakes the brain up.

The focus seems to happen at higher dosages. Especially the crazy consciousness expanding self-effects (and I don’t mean in the way recreational drugs do, but more like some latent superhuman+ mode that you can suddenly access), which seem to mostly happen at 50mcg and higher for a lot of people. Of course, there’s hyper and hypo responders to everything as our internal chemistry does differ (esp. if you’re on any medication), so ymmv.

I used TAF at moderate doses (20-28 mcg) in tandem with other pheros and experienced an incredible enhancing effect of the other pheros. When I paired it with IS, I was ridiculously happy - seriously. It also helped me focus on the task immediately at hand. The combo was pretty weird - I was very very focused on the final and super happy to be taking the exam.

I guess I hadn’t come across one of those threads yet; there’s so much to read. :o Thanks for the info! Maybe I will try a half a spray split up between my forearms, that way I will use less and also it won’t be right up near my face either. You mention diluting the product–how do you go about doing that?

My daughter has ADD, I wonder how this would work for her? Might be worth a try…? Are pheros ok to use on kids? (she is 10).

It is my experience with my own kids (12,18,19) that some of the pheromones affect the youngest differently than the older two. Some of the pheromones he doesn’t seem to respond to at all, others cause him to become extremely lightheaded if he even walks in the room when I’m wearing pheromones.

Also, remember that we are just discussing personal effects we’ve observed in ourselves. Pheromones aren’t drugs used to treat any disorder or disease or to replace medical treatment.

To dilute:

10.0 mcg TAF →

2.5 mcg TAF = 1 part 10.0 mcg TAF + 3 parts diluent

In an empty To Go! container add 1 part TAF and 3 parts perfumer’s alcohol (30 mL Bottle :: Mixing Supplies :: Androtics Direct/SmartMones - add perfumer’s alcohol from pull down menu under choose your diluent/fragrance)

If you transfer your perfumer’s alcohol to a 5 mL To Go! bottle, the sprays will be the same volume. So for every 1 spray of 10.0 mcg TAF you spray into an empty bottle, add 3 sprays alcohol.

10.0 mcg TAF → 2.5 mcg TAF →

1.25 mcg TAF = 1 part 2.5 mcg TAF + 1 part diluent
or
1.25 mcg TAF = 1 part 10.0 mcg TAF + 7 parts diluent

To dilute to 1.25 mcg/spray, you can either dilute straight or do a serial dilution. For the serial dilution, dilute a small amount of 10.0 mcg TAF to 2.5 mcg. Then take equal parts of the 2.5 mcg TAF and perfumer’s alcohol. So for every 1 spray of 2.5 mcg TAF add 1 spray perfumer’s alcohol.

To make a straight dilution from 10.0 mcg TAF to 1.25 mcg TAF, use 1 spray 10.0 mcg TAF and 7 sprays perfumer’s alcohol.

I dilute by spraying from To Go! bottles into To Go! bottles. Just make sure you use a sharpie to label what you are working with and what you end up with.

EDIT: correcting the diluting formula!!!

Oh, I know! She recieves medication and sees a doc monthly. I was just curious if they might help along with her meds. It would be nice if she could use them at times to help her focus on longer days when she has multiple activities.

Cancermoon…If she is already on medication I would thing twice about adding TAF… The meds should be enough and you can supplement with B vitamin’s. She’s only 10 and unless she has major problems with focusing in school I would personally leave it.

Yes, I do use TAF in combination with my meds, but I’m 31 and I don’t do it everyday…And I have a very high stress job where I can’t afford to get distracted. The one thing I have noticed is that unless I apply the TAF in the morning it does give me issues with sleep at night when combined with my regular meds…
I know it may sound like I don’t practice what I preach but I think that if you can get away with not using meds for ADD, then you should…Regardless of how well meds work for me, (and they do, I wouldn’t have the career I have today without them), if I didn’t have to take them I wouldn’t…because at the end of the day they are stimulant drugs…

I would say that if you want to try it, make sure you use the dilute version that Diane suggested, and only apply in the morning…and only on special occations such as school tests etc when she’d need that extra boost.

Thanks for the info! I am really careful with her meds (not just a mom, but a nurse too LOL), I was just curious what those of you with ADD thought about using TAF along with meds, or in place of them on some days. I wouldn’t use it without talking to her doc anyway, to let him know what I was trying and why. I honestly would like to see her off of meds if I could, and we have trialed periods without them to see how she does, but unfortunately, she is not at that point yet. :frowning: Even she recognizes that she needs them; she says that without them her brain ‘feels like it is in Elmer’s glue’. So I guess we’ll keep trying!

Diane, thanks for all the info on how to dilute!!

Welcome! Just wanted to point out that I flubbed the dilution formulas (damned cut and paste feature!). I went back and corrected them, so be sure to look again if you are going to try diluting.

Diane

i have the same problem with ADD and had some great effects with P86, but never tried TAF. i was wondering what’s the difference in those two in the terms of focus.

You find P86 boosts your focus? I don’t think I’ve heard anyone describe it that way… P86 is generally known as the P that gives the “Shallow Hal” effect…makes everything pretty in a hazy way almost.

P86 for me is very sedating…I can only do very small amounts of it so I rarely use it…I just get soo dopey almost like my brain is working in slow motion.

TAF on the other hand gives a great focus and concentration boost. It makes the cognitive functions much sharper, and all other senses are amped too…smells are stronger (I can smell leftover perfume from the day before), visual details much more noticable and sensation is increased

I think at really high doses P86 may have some stimulant effects along with crazy, wild visuals. I got that on my overdose trial of P292 before we all found out it contained high Androstenone and P86. I assumed it was TAA because I’ve had a similar reaction to an OD of that molecule. But it was P86.

BUT, I haven’t tried a mega dose of P86, and I probably won’t, because I really dislike that much visual stimulation.

Diane

I wanted to come back to this and mention that I have tried TAF a few more times, in dosages down to 2.5-5mcg/spray, and in combo with a couple of other pheros, I still have the “buzz” feeling with it. It’s not as strong, of course, but it is still there. :frowning: Every time, my hands get shaky and I end up with a headache of some kind. I’ve tried it with IS, hoping it might help give me a self effect with it, because I still don’t seem to get any kind of effect from it, but didn’t notice any change, other than feeling worse. I’ve tried it with MX 274 to see if it made any changes in the dosage I needed to use, but it just seems like I am so distracted by the way I feel from the TAF that it is hard to focus on whether or not there were any changes.

I guess I am one of those people that TAF just isn’t a good option for. :frowning:
