I read online recently that celery has lots of androstenone. Would a steady diet of celery help pump up your pheromone level, hence make you more attractive to the opposite sex? I have now integrated it into my diet to see!!
Where did you read that?
I think is was a Men’s Health website. I looked at a couple of websites on the composition of celery, and it says that it does contain androstenone in it’s chemical makeup. Check out this Wikipedia link under the nutrition section and another link or just google celery and pheromones. It also has the potential of sperm count increase:
Anyone experiment with this extensively? For awhile I ate a bowl of celery everyday and I noticed that my natural smell was most definitely much stronger and muskier. But I don’t remember what else it did.
I’ve wondered about this myself. I assume it’s true but that brings up two very important questions. First, could the none survive the harsh environment of the digestive system to be delivered to the skin for diffusion?
And secondly assuming the answer to the first question is yes, while it’s pretty obvious that one or even two sticks contain negligible amounts, could the effects be cumulative? IE while eating one or two sticks today might not create any noticeable effect, could eating a couple of sticks a day every day over time create a buildup that causes more marked gains?
I think it does. Recently I ate two stalks for lunch, and two for dinner, totalling 4 a day. And I gotta say after about 6 weeks or so I’d get the same kind of looks as if I were wearing some A314 and/or IJ. I felt great and women were more flirtatious in general. Then came the holidays and I kinda fell of my diet, but in my experience celery overtime, eaten consistently does produce great results.
Yes celery will increase your testosterone levels which in turn should increase pheromone output but you would have to eat at least one to two whole bunches a day. Not stalks… bunches. Usually one bunch comes in a bag so you would have to eat 1 to 2 bags a day.
That’s a lot of celery for most people. You could buy a juicer and make a juice using a whole bunch of celery and this way you get your allotted amount without having to chew on it all day.

You could also workout. That would raise testosterone levels as well. Plus you would be healthier and look better. You could also incorporate celery into your diet. A double bonus!
Tisha, if you ate two bunches per day, you’d be “regular” as clockwork too! You don’t get that fibre if you juice it!
No you dont get the fiber when juicing. I combine juicing with actually eating organic vegetables and whole grains for fiber.
Really to get the desired nutrients from vegetables in your diet you need to eat way more then the 5 servings suggested. Farming soil has been depleted of its natural mineral content from years of over use and mass production. If there is no minerals in your soil there is no minerals in your veggies. In the “olden days” farmers would rotate there fields and crops to avoid this. Some small organic farmers still do but more of the big farms could care less. As a result many vegetables that the average American consumes have 50% to 80% less vitamin and mineral content as the vegetables your grandparents ate. Not to mention all the pesticides that are poisoning your body slowly over time.
If you eat them canned …well I wouldn’t even bother to eat them canned. There is virtually no mineral content in them. Frozen is better but not by much. I cant afford to buy all organic myself but I try and usually the ones I dont buy organic are on the safe list meaning they have a peel or tougher skin so less pesticides get in. In the summer I go home to the farm and pick most my stuff there and I have my own garden as well. During the summer I juice less because I know the soil my veggies are coming from is not depleted. In the winter there is no way I can eat that much fiber and not be in the bathroom all day so I juice more. I Love it.

I’d respectfully disagree a bit, in my experience eating only 4 stalks a day (2 for lunch, 2 for dinner), consistantly for weeks is sufficient. From what I’ve seen with my body, it’s not about how much I stuff in my mouth, it’s more about can I do it day after day. After 6 solid weeks of eating celery & cucumbers, I noticed;
- my skin complexion was better, and no breakouts
- felt stronger in weight room
- got the kinds of reaction I’d normally see when having mones w/ plenty of rone and none (i.e. A314, IJ)
I think as w/ anything, if u eat a clean diet, and work out consistently, it will really pay off…You will see a lot better results this way than let’s say eating 2 bunches a day for a week.
A little off topic, but since you do your own gardening you might want to try adding some basalt rock dust to your garden. Assuming your soil is biologically active (earthworms and healthy soil microbes) it does a good job of replenishing minerals and trace elements to the soil for the plant to absorb.
Your not really disagreeing with me. I didnt do the research on it but its been scientifically proven just ask any nutritionist or look it up in the journals. Many sites take info from these studies and blow them all out of proportion on there web sites which just leads to misinformation really. So while celery does increase testosterone you need to eat a lot to see that or you can take celery seed oil which is what doctors suggest because they know people can not eat enough celery to make a difference. Your right you would also have to be really consistent about it.
Its the cucumbers not the celery that does this. Cucumbers contain ascorbic acid and caffeic acid, both of which help soothe skin irritations and reduce swelling as well as silica to clear skin.
This could be simply because your conscious of eating better or a placebo effect. Or all that working out is paying off and you in fact stronger. Give yourself some credit here to.
Rone and A1 comes from testosterone. Its more likely your muscle mass is improving from time spent in the gym and this in turn will make you produce more Testosterone. Celery is good for you and it can do some amazing things but really using celery alone to raise your testosterone level biologically makes a insignificant difference. I think its the combination of all your doing that is showing the overall improvement you have noticed.
I think you should keep eating it but maybe look into juicing as well then a few times a week make a juice using cucumbers Kale celery and a fruit of your choice to sweeten it and make it taste better. Just be sure to drink it right away because juicing breaks the enzymes down so it loses nutritional value quicker.
Thank you radman I will look into that. My soil is pretty good. I do a lot of composting all year which helps and I rotate my garden around every year. Its good to have alternatives though because I want to have a bigger garden this year. I also have to figure out how to keep the damn woodchuck out. Last year I planted him his own garden right outside his little nest and he still raided mine. LOL

When I did experiment with celery, I was eating ridiculous amounts. It was several big bowlfuls a day, and it made a huge impact on my body scent, but I never took note of how it affected my interactions with people. I wonder if there is a way to isolate the androstenone from celery and concentrate it…
In a way thats what your doing when you juice it. You can down 3 to 4 bunches of celery a day in one 4 to 6 oz glass full. Remember celery is high in salt to for those watching salt intake.
I am sure there are other more scientific ways but they would be costly.

Ideally you would use di-ethyl ether to extract the more lipophilic portions from the celery juice, then evaporate off the ether. The problem isn’t the cost so much as the difficulty getting one’s hands on the stuff… as well as saftey concerns. The stuff is remarkably flamable and also a little toxic.
But in a pinch, I’m thinking that you could mix in some grapeseed oil when you blended the juice and then collect that off the top. The stuff you’d want to collect would probably be more oil soluable than water soluable, so this would be one way to leave stuff like sugars behind. I’m currently testing this out in my spare time, but with cucumber seeds. I’m not sure the oil extraction is really all that necessecary, though.
I’ve been eating celery and celery root nearly everyday now for a couple of years. Where I used to be able to wear 7 or 8 sprays of TUTH, after my celery supplementation I can now only wear a couple. I would say yes, it definitely increases enone production.
