I love bacon, but do you?
P.S. Religious persons need not reply. I forgive you
The taste of children in the morning…nothing like it… j/k kidding bacon tastes much better.
That about sums it up! ![]()
Bella
I offer a third option:
I am Jew. Hear me roar!
Please reread this kind sir:
Everything goes well with bacon
I dont care for Bacon. Its way to fatty, salty and yucky. Your children on the other hand are a much leaner sweeter source of protein. ![]()
Tish
Oh goddess Turkey bacon is even worse. Its like cardboard covered in sugar and salt. I would let real bacon in the house before I would let turkey bacon in.
I say if your gonna eat unhealthy go for the gold and get real bacon or offer the neighbors kids some organic ginger bread and push them in the oven when they come in
.
Tish
You mean like this little snack I whistled-up a while back:

Marag Dubh, alcohol pickled pears and peaches, bacon and salad with a gravy of pear pickle juice and balsamic vinegar. ![]()
And a Sunday morning is not right without some Ayrshire Middle, mushrooms and fresh-baked Spelt bread. ![]()
Ewwww, that bacon made me gag a little LOL
They burned the mushrooms to. Mushrooms burn easy but its not good to do. Creates lots of carcinogens. At my house it would be some nice grilled free range chicken or a piece of fillet mignon with the pickled peaches and pears and spinach and raw mushrooms covered in the gravy.
I think I have an aversion to all pork, On my grandparents farm I loved the little pigs the best and would name them and I would hide them so my grandfather wouldn’t slaughter them. Course he did and I would cry and my brothers would tease me and tell me we were eating rosy, thus the beginning of my disgust for pork.
Mobo that’s a lovely dish, that is, and looks delicious!
Although I don’t see mushrooms on the plate. I think the “burned mushrooms” Tisha’s referring to are some sort of black bread/pumpernickel muffin/biscuit, no? It doesn’t look like spelt to me. Enlighten me, lol. ![]()
Aw, poor Rosy!
Well, I do understand your attachment to the cute little porker but I learned/was taught early on not to get attached to animals that were designated for consumption. Some animals were pets and some were meant for food and that’s just the way it was. I didn’t have pigs for pets but I did have lots of other pets including turtles and I still love snapper soup!
Which brings me to… The Turtle Burger! ![]()

Seriously, have a tremendous respect for food and am very particular about how it’s raised and where it comes from…even my bacon. ![]()
Bella
Yeah I know, it the number one rule of farming. I didnt care about the chickens turkeys and cows but those pigs are just so damn cute. Rosey was a little tiny pink one. My grandfather would yell at me for naming them and say the same thing. LOL “Stop naming the food” ![]()
Hmm you think its the spelt ? Where are the mushrooms then ? Either way its way way over done. Never eat something you cant recognize LOL
Oh my god Bella, you know I raise Russian tortoises. That looks just like squirtle. I am traumatized LOL
Tisha
No, I don’t think it’s spelt, lol. This is funny! OK, see the dark “burned” circles on the plate? That’s not mushrooms, it’s some sort of bread. My guess is that’s pumpernickle. I eat/bake with spelt all the time and spelt grain, even whole grain spelt, ain’t that dark.
The mushrooms are MIA
…I think Mobo was just talkin’ about them, lol.
Jeez, no, I didn’t know!
Better hide 'em. ![]()
Bella
ROFL I think if I had to choose I would go for the bacon before those hocky puck looking things. Bet you could kill someone with one of those.

Aren’t those pickled plumbs, like Eve’s?
I did. I actually have had bacon on occasion. I was just being a smart ass ![]()
